I would be wary about putting anything delicate in a box trailer.
They typically dont have shock absorbers so the gear gets bounced around not doing it any good.

I would go for an estate car or a van well before buying a trailer.

A van is far better if your budget will stretch to it, but a trailer makes good economic sense.

In that case I would put the delicates in the car and the speakers in the trailer.

I used a trailor for over 20 years and my gear was fine. As long as you pack it correctly and have it cased or protected you'll be fine.

This is advice from someone who actually used one.

Yes all my equipment will be cased securley and also my brother inlay will insulate that trailor and put some shelving in there for me so it will be perfect for what i need. mabe in a few years time ill upgreade to a van but for now this was in my budget happy days

What broke in your trailor then Nigel? Surely if it was housed in a suitable flightcase, it should have been fine?

I had problems with bulbs mostly.

I also had to put elastic bands around the head shell on the turntables so they didnt pop off.

And those were the days before speed humps !

its a race against time on satturday as i have a disco in lyme regis starting at 18 30 so i need to be in reading at 1 pm pick it up get home load up and drive to lyme regis just hope traffic is kind to me .

would have been great to meet you allthough i am sure ill get the chance on one of the DJ meets.

Got mine from ebay also, best thing I ever bought! The main benefits are:

1. I can just lock it up in the garage until next time it's needed - so it's double-locked,

2. I get lots of biz from people who respond to the funny advertising on it as I travel around (best one is on the back - "no cheese kept in this trailer overnight"),

3. The packing is easy as there is more space and as yet I have suffered minimal breakages.

Mine looks a bit older than yours (see it on my website 'GALLERY' page) but my "bargain" cost me less :)

Yes you are right. Your trailer is still going strong although i have knocked off the back bit when trying to turn round in a lane whilst late!!

Nothing has been damaged yet inside and i live in the New forest so often off roading required at break neck speed!

Wish it had a bloody brake though!!

If I did buy another trailer, I think that would be top of my list. Try doing an emergency stop with it fully loaded at 30mph and you'll see what I mean! I have stood up in my car on the brakes once or twice when people did stupid things in front of me.

The tail light metal bit on the back. The bloke i was meeting for ebay thing riveted it back on which was useful.

No, not when driving thats great, a brake when it is detached from the car as it tends to roll a little on hills etc. a brick always works just as fine though.
