I only joined a month or two back - due to some of my quiz teams hassling me to join, as many of them are already on there.

I'm on facebook and myspace but can't be bothered most of the time.
Besides, my step-daughters are on it on the desktop ALL the time, really gets on my nerves when I'm trying to watch tv and all you can hear is 'click' click' click' of the keyboard...

It makes me laugh when they tell me how many 'friends' they have, and they've never even met them. I tell them to get out more and make 'real' friends. :D

If you ignore all of the stupid little applications and diasble the notifcations so that you don't get 1000's of emails everytime someone does something then it's a good little tool. It keeps you in touch with friends old and new and also is a good way to advertise your nights etc and get feedback.

I even have someone on there who was my best friend throughout my school life. I haven't seen him for almost 30 years, although it's not likely either, as he moved north of the border.

I think Facebook is another tool that we can use for advertising too. I set up a Shakermaker Promotions page the other day which a lot of my friends have joined. It only takes them to have the link on their profile pages and for someone to notice it and get in touch. I have also noted on there that if anyone books me via facebook that they will get a 'discount'.

It may end up that no bookings come via the page BUT for the sake of 10 minutes work setting up the page...well, it's worth a go and more importantly, it's free.

Just spotted this in a search. Soundtracker is spot on in his reply, I actually saw the legend on a chap's shirt at DJSN. Presume it was him. Nice to know I have friends. :D As for Facebook, give us a break lads, I'm easing into the
