Why is it that I need to press the page back button 2 or 3 times on this site to go back one page
Its only on this site, others are as normal.
Is there a setting in explorer to change this?

For some bizarre reason each page is loading twice when you to click on it at the moment, so to go back to where you were you'd have to click back twice to go back through each page load.

Someone tell me it's not something dumb like the IE anti-phishing tool?

Did XPSP3 turn on the anti-phisher by default or something stoopid like that?

I run Safari on a mac and don't see this at all.

You think YOU'VE got problems?

I can't see banners or smileys, can't insert files or do large, coloured or highlighted text, and some of my posts completely vanish a few minutes after I've posted them...

...I think I'm in the twilight zone!

What Tony?

The double-click requirement to page back?

or all the other problems I'm also having?

Nope, not that, I'm on Vista Business here.

By the way, XP SP3 should be avoided at all costs, PC's at my work have a habit of getting stuck in a boot cycle, and being part of the IT support team, is a real headache. :bang:

They wouldn't be HP models would they?

There was a batch of HP BIOSes that XPSP3 objected to.

Otherwise the only bad things I've heard about it concern the changing of behaviour and user rights etc. in things like IE - which is what prompted the question about the phishing filter etc. as the timing seems remarkably uncanny. SP3 was placed on windows update general release about 3 weeks ago, and these problems started about the same time. Meanwhile those on OSX/Safari seem unaffected. Hmmm...

I just tried it on that and it's fine too. Must be IE.

Well on my computer IE works a lot better than fire fox and all that. It's nothing to do with my pc as most of the parts are high end as wel as the hard drive being in tip top condition.

Sorry, but that's a very old line.

If you use reasonable security and AV you shouldn't have a problem.

My IE7 seems to be struggling with a few websites and the back button. Could be a recent update to it has caused a problem.

I've had Rob's problem before. After some discussion with an engineer I was told to "clear the cache" under Tools>Clear Private Data on Firefox (it's somewhere on IE also but I haven't used that for ages!). This seems to do the trick for most website-related problems!

As for using the back button on this site causing problems, I never use it. I click on the sections and page numbers instead as this ensures posts and threads are always up to date. If you use the back button I believe it simply loads up pages stored on your computer in the cache and, therefore, doesn't refresh the pages or show up-to-date changes. I prefer to keep up to date to I do things my way!

I think I've joined you Rob! :( :( I know I posted a thread this morning, and now it's not there! Any mods care to have a look please? I'm having broadband issues, but I'm sure I posted a thread inspired by the Live Bands one.
