What is your views on a Uniform?

I am looking into getting a uniform for my team @ RONEDJS.CO.UK. I’ve managed to get a cheap price at a t-shirt making place and I am thinking of getting them printed.
What are everyone’s views on getting this done?

I have had T-Shirts made which are embroidered with my company name, website and phone number which I wear at most events, 18ths, cooperate parties etc...I think it looks better than just a t-shirt. however at a wedding I think it would be too casual so would probally just wear it to set up then change into something smarter.

Mine are navy blue polo shirts(should have said that instead of T-Shirts) with white writing. was cheap too only 17quid for 2 polo shirts...

I dont know if it would would tacky or not.

polo shirts are abit tacky, why not go for sleeveless shirts, you know the proper ones with a collar. cheers

Polo shirts look smart, obviously not for every occasion but the more casual gigs.
Not had any made up for the disco yet but had quite a few made for the members of my site over a couple of years.

We use polos for setting up in and when my guys arrive at a new venue we look professional and look like we mean business rather than turning up in jeans and t shirt.

Image is everything.

We also have fleeces for the winter.

but a castrol gtx jacket has a real touch of class- if its good enough for norwichs best dj then its good enough for me.

My 2p's worth,

Arrive at gig in polo shirt and black combat pants, set up.

Once set up, disappear (either into nearest toilet or most often the car park) and put on "proper" shirt with sleeves which has the company logo on and dark trousers with shoes.

That's the way I do it ;)

i agree i wouldnt wear anything i once worked a gig for someone and they wanted me to wear a jacket and a tie with there logo on i refused

The last two I bought were reversable -fleece on one side and non-fleece (rain jacket type material) on the other. Logos on both sides and pockets on both too.

They are a really good idea and you can choose which side to wear weather dependant.

I'm in the process of redeveloping the website for next year. Part of this is a complete redesign of the logo which means new workwear. I've emailed this company for more info and a brochure. I've even said they've been recommended by Darren@Solitaire! Wonder if that's worth a discount? (Both for me and for Darren!) ;)

there is a pdf on the site which gives you the price including the embroidery but i will be emailing them my logo and see what they say

www.smartasstshirts.co.uk is where i got my polo shirts made for my full time business, heat presses logo/text. got them done for £6 each, he does stag night / hen night shirts etc as well.

I had some really nice - not in your face just a small embroided logo on a couple of polos and long sleeve shirts a few years back and as a rule of thumb polos were for set-up and kids parties shirts for birthdays/run of the mill functions. If it was a wedding plain suit and shirt - i suppose it depends on your market.

I did toy with the idea of getting some more but with a smallish logo embroidered in monotone or the same colour as the material so it can be seen if it needs to be without jumping out and saying I'm the DJ! and could be worn for client consultaions etc. But like I said it depends on your market!
