Once again...Help is required

Hello there people, Hope we are all well...

Tomorrow (Wednesday) I have my first "proper" client meeting. I have done one before, a few weeks back but the man booking the disco had seen me at previous parties. A client phoned at the weekend regarding the 6th December for a wedding disco. He wanted to know a bit about myself and whether I was free on that date. We then had a chat about guest’s age and music etc until I suggested, "Would you like to meet at the venue?" He jumped at the offer...so here I am, worrying about my first "proper" meeting. Another worrying factor is that he doesn’t know my age...so when he sees me it may come to a bit of a shock! I will be coming down with Dad, so that should make it alright.... Any advice you could give...what to say...what not to say...do I take notes?

ALSO HELP NEEDED TO GIVE ME AN IDEA, MUSIC WISE "We're not very fuddy duddy and won't want mo-town. We like 70's, 80's, 90's and a lot of the 00’s. We like contempory music?"

Can anyone help me with this.... What to say and do in the meeting. Ideas and suggestions for "contempory" music.

Check outhe 'Music' section of the forum, there's loads on there, including some set-lists if you're prepared to hunt around a bit.

Good luck with the meet, definately take a pad and pen with you, you'll need to ask about first dance and general timings, you'd look a bit foolish if you forget on the night. I would enquire further with reference to the music but remember to ask what most of the guests would want too.

Also, take some business cards if you have any, maybe leave a few with the venue.

Contemporary is another word for 'modern' or 'popular at the moment' music, but could mean anything really! Get some names of bands and artists from the client.
