Hi people,
Today I did a Ede disco at the youth centre noticed they have a 1/2 mirror ball but no light shining on it. What kind of light is best to use to shine on the mirror ball for best effect?

i use 2 mojo 250w colour changers on my mirror ball lovely effect (pictures on my site), incidentally both for sale after 25th october.

LED Par cans don't work that well I have found, colour changers or moving heads are the best option as they are a direct beam unlike a par can has more of a dispersed direction of light.

make a bracket to fit your rig so you can fit the par can about 2feet away from the the mirror ball, gives a nice effect then. each to their own

Usually lighting works from the side of the mirror balls and this is why spots are used more due to not everybodys rig can have a par can 2 ft away. But if your method works for you and you are happy with it then thats good for you.

get some box section a welder and 2 plates with some bolts, their you are, your very own custom par can bracket, the skys the limit

I don't really want to go to all the lenghts it is easier for me to just spin the moving heads around what are on the boxes and point them at the balls. Plus I don't want to start welding my own brackets I would rather buy from a company where I know they have been tested and they have load limits ect.

i think he would prefer to just buy one...

anyway, as previously mentioned... scanners/moving heads/colour changers are what i'd recommend!

Yep me too. Par cans aren't made for mirror balls.
