hello i have just made a new investment into my business, which is a pair of class d cd15p speakers, i got them for a bargin price and was happy when i listened to them a few weeks back, has anyone else got these and could possiably tell me how they perform on the road in large and small gigs, cheers damian

give people a little extra to do init MAN, they would of cost £265 but i got them for £214 which then when i come to sell them later on next year, i wouldnt of lost that much money on them, cheers

As far as I know you can only buy class-d speakers new from class-d (although I may be wrong)

That is the set up i use.
I dont take the bass bins when the Venue is small, as the tops are punchy enough on their own.

Did you demo these? Why buy something like speakers without demoing them? Lights etc maybe different but something like speakers, well I would have asked for a demo.

Sometimes Class-D let gear go on Ebay for silly money. People on here have got bargains this way before.

Steve, till I heard these cabs, I was not a fan of plastic ones. These are great, but not as good for full range as the wooden ones.

Chris, the tops are the ones Steve uses, and rates very highly. I'd prefer the SP rahge of tops myself, but they're dearer. I use a pair of CD15SP's for most of my gigs with others from the range. They are fine on their own for many gigs, but as I always say , they are HUGE! ;)

Its a bass box I built myself.
The speaker faces rearwards and there is a vent at the top and bottom for the sound to come forward.
I didnt keep it long as I couldnt lift it !

I didnt know it would be too heavy when I made it. :bang:

I made the mistake of using an 18 inch speaker in it and that was 15Kg on its own ! thats before I start adding a box within a box.

As you ALL probably know by now, I too use Class-d and still very impressed with them. To me, the plastic 12" tops I use sound pretty darn good when paired with my 15" bins. I hardly take out the 15" wooden tops any more (maybe selling - who knows :) )

IMO, when I take out the 15" bins & 15" tops, the rig sounds too bassy and end up dropping back the bass on the mixer and upping the treble.
With the 12" plastic tops, the balance when bass & treble are at 12 o clock is spot on! :D

As for pricing, they are cheap enough and I doubt you will get much for them second hand because of this.
As for a good deal, £650 for 2x15" bins, 2x15" mids/tops 2x12" tops a 1400W amp and all the relevant speaker leads. That was after a visit to Class-d with my good friend Peter (Excalibur) :p :D :D Cheaper than ebay!

One of the reasons for the bass heavy sound, in my humble opinion/experience is that the 12's have higher quality HF units in them. Well worth it in my opinion. That's why your rig sounds so good with all the cabs linked.

i have a Pair of Class-D CD12P Speakers and Pair of Class-D CD15N Speakers and they are awesome sound superb really pleased with them. The quality of the speakers is very good the bins are a bit big but do sound very nice over all i would say outstanding value for money.

And Darren if i ever get time i would be happy to bring the speakers over for you to have a play with not in the RCF league but i bet you would agree that they are superb value
