Hi all,
Just like when you buy a new album of your favourite artist, you listen to it non-stop and then put it away for a while. When you come back to it months or even years later, it stills sounds as good as when you first heard it...Well, I have to admit that over the past year or so, what with the LED lights coming into full force now, I have tended to use them more and more and on more than one occasion, I have used a whole rig of just LED lights. The LittLED's, MarvelLED, Mystic LED to name just 3 but I have more. In a way I have kind of neglected my other lights and I have loads of them, in fact...far too many.
The LED lights are great, light and easy to both transport about and set up with no fear of bulbs going and I think that has, in a way made me a bit lazy to be honest. I like the way the beams of light look when you use the haze etc but in theory, and apart from the ImpossibLED, MarvelLED and Mystic LED, it's mainly just coloured dots and no moving patterns. If you don't use other lights with them like Dynamos or Moonflowers (for example) then it can look a bit jumbled up and dare I say it...messy.
Anyway, just like my album example above, last night I decided to set up some lights in the house that I hadn't used for a while and mix them with a couple of LED's and it was like having new stuff again. I set up 2 x Dynarocks, 2 x Dynamos and then in the middle had 1 x Kam Goboflower and the Mystic LED and it looked really cool with the haze. I was surprised really just how good the Kam Goboflower looked and I have only used that once or twice since I got it 2 years ago. It was less messy and more busy and my thought was that from now on in the early part of the evening, I could just have the Mystic LED and Kam Gobflower on to fill the dancefloor with effects and then when the party really gets going, turn on the Dynamos and Dynarocks for that extra bit of madness.
Having so many lights, it's frustrating leaving some in the lockup and taking out the same ones each time I do a function. I have some that I have used once that are sat there but it's also a good thing to have backup anyway.
