Hi everyone

Why do some people insist on tryng to take over the Party?.

Last nights 30th i did, the Bithday boy and his Sister kept coming up and saying "play this ".
Nearly every time i played a song that they sugested it dit not work that well.

When they said " whats on next" and i told them, the Birthday boy's Sister would say " no i don't like that, dont play that.

When i was booked for this gig, the Birthday boy had said what he wanted played and i said "yes no problem".
But i think that when he saw that some of the guests were not dancing, he got a littlt worried.

There were about 15- 20 people dancing most of the time ( only about 50- 60 guests), but i think that they had the idea that everyone should be dancing.

Later on in the evening i played some of the songs that i had sugsted to them before and they had said "don't think they will work", and suprise suprise, they all loved them and more people danced.:D

So when i had packed away, i went and spoke to the steward, and he asked for a card, i said to him that i did not think it went that well tonight, and he looked suprised and said, " you are joking, you were very good".
also had a couple of thank you's, from some of the guests.

Just goes to show that just because you feel that a gig is hard work, and you don't feel that people are loving it, that is not always tha case

I had a few problems with this happening in the past, but it was easy to cure.

Now when I'm asked what the next song is (by ANYONE at all), I always reply "I haven't decided yet" or "I don't know yet" whether it's true or not.

End of problem!

Also announce who has requested the song if they keep requesting flops. Not in a cheeky way though, just as you would normally do.
