Hi Charlie,

I absolutely LOVE the pub quizzes!

They are only a couple of hours, only take about 5 minutes to set up (as they require hardly any gear), I normally have several drinks lined up which people have bought for me & spend much of my time going round & chatting to people.

Therefore, I'm basically socializing with people in a pub...but getting paid for it!

I can't think of any better way to spend my weekday evenings!

:D

:) Ahh brilliant....I suppose it is quite fun....especially if they are all regulars and you have established yourself....I just know the guy who does our quizzes at our local, is a right boring old fart. Who always looks half dead.

I can tell you have a quite a bubbly character, so I guess you are not only the quiz master but some form of entertainment for the punters. Rob’s doing the quiz, so it’s going to be a good night-kind of thing?

I just know the guy who does our quizzes at our local, is a right boring old fart. Who always looks half dead.

I've heard this a lot of times before.

I try to be bubbly, crack a few gags & have a bit of fun with them.

so I guess you are not only the quiz master but some form of entertainment for the punters. Rob’s doing the quiz, so it’s going to be a good night-kind of thing?

I hope that's the case!

There are two aspects...the contents of the quiz & the presenter, and in an ideal world they will both be entertaining. I think I have the right kind of personality for it, as I'm chatty, friendly & have a good sense of humour.

If people didn't like me, they wouldn't come back each week, buy me drinks, give me some of their prize money when they win or buy me pressies or cards...all of which happen on a regular basis.

I've managed to keep one of my quizzes going for nearly six years now, and I've had a couple of the same teams coming along pretty much every week since I started, so I must be doing something right.

It also helps the discos, at I probably pick up about 5 or 6 bookings each year from people I know through my quiz nights.

:)

Edit: Apologies to Gary & the mods for going off topic, but I was just answering a couple of points Charlie asked me about.

The snow was pouring down tonight during & after my quiz in Isleworth.

Just got home & had the biggest problem trying to get my van in the garage in the 19 years I've lived here.

I thought it would be ok, as the snow was fresh, but unfortunately my garage is on a bit of a slope & the van kept going to the left & then the wheels started spinning.

I was close to giving up & parking way up the road, but eventually got it in, although it wasn't easy.
