Here is a short list of some of the stuff that I need to shift as I'm running out of storage.

4x Acme Dynamo 100w scanner with 3 dmx cables and 1 ca-8 controller. All lights in mint condition. Was looking at £200.

3x Geni Mojo Spinmaster.. 1 of them is great condition and was looking at £60 for that. Another one has a slight cracked barrel but this does not affect the beam of light at all. Was looking at £40 for that. There is one other that has a little wear and tear and was looking at £50 for that one.

1x American Audio 310D dual cd player. Mint condition. Comes with all leads and 2 stereo phono leads but I do not have the original box. Looking at £60.

1x Behringer VMX1000 dj mixer. Mint condition. Comes with power lead and manual but not in original box. Looking at £60.

2x Prosound SSC-2 Scanner. One of them as a crack mirror but this does not affect the beam of light at all. Looking at £70 for the pair.

2x Studiospares 15” Fortissimo Active speakers. These have some wear and tear but are fantastic speakers. Cost £400 new for the pair and I'm looking at £180 for the pair.

If you are interested in anything above then please pm me and lets see if we can do a deal. No silly offer please. I have not included any prises for delivery. If you can give me your post code, I can try to get the cheapest price possible or if you want to arrange your own delivery then thats fine.

I don't have any pictures as yet but I will add these as when I can get a few spare 10 minutes.

Hya Tom mate no disrespect but I think you may struggle getting the price with being the 100w version, I wouldn't mind a couple of dynamo's but would be more inclined to go for the 250s :(

Why?

I've seen a few sets of 4 dynamos go for over £250 on ebay. I bought mine for around £230. The 100w are so bright anyway.

Hi Tom
Scanners arrived today. Well they were here yesterday but noone got up in time to answer the door. Didn't expect them to be here that soon.

Small problem with one of them, the lamp isn't working. Where can I get one of those lamp holders? And, how easy is it to replace?

The other is working fine although being late in the evening I couldn't put the hifi up loud enough to properly test the audio pickup.

Many thanks

Also. What lead do I need to link these two lights

That's strange because both of them were working before I packed them and sent them to you. But I did mention on the paperwork that one of the lights may require a new lamp holder/connection.

Not quite sure what the real name of that part is but I'll have a look around and find a good price for you.

As for connecting the lights, you can use a microphone cable to connect them up.

You dont need really loud music to test them. Just clap your hands and that should set of the sound to light mode. Just make sure you select it on the LCD screen.

EDIT:

I think this is the part but I'm not 100% so if someone can comfirm this please. :)

I'd be pretty sure that you'd find a holder in the Maplins catalogue. ;)

EDIT: I've not seen the holder in the flesh, but that's quite likely.
Or possibly the one for the Spin3?

There was a bulb already in the unit plus a spare one. Just to conirm that it is the holder I'll take the bulb I know is working and try that.

The sound to light is working I just wondered what sort of difference it would make with the music louder. Will have a look inside it at the weekend to see what way the holder is connected.
EDIT
Excaliber. The link that Tom gave is the same as the holder in the scanner. Thanks for the help anyway.

There was 4 lamps but one of them was blown and didnt have another box to pack it so left it in the light.

The 2 boxed lamps are brand new and un used. :)

The lamp holder is the same, just a different design. :). If you have a maplins near you then would be best to go for that one as it saves waiting a while for the post to come.

Had a look today at the light I thought was faulty. I took the cover of it and had a look at where the lamp holder connects to the circuit board and thought "oh :Censored: thats gonna be awkward". I decided to plug it in and see what happens, and after a while of pressing the menu buttons the light suddenly comes on. Switch off and put it back together again. I try it again and lo and behold, no light. Eventually I discover it is a contact problem. Not sure if it is the pin holes in the holder or wether there needs to be better contact between the bulb and the metal bracket that holds it in place.

Had both of them running, linked together, for over half an hour this evening.
First thing I learned was that only the master unit needs to be in audio mode:doh:

Would like a few pointers on the best address settings to use. I discovered that they seem to react best to the music when both units are set to A0001.

I don't know what I did but at one point both mirrors were moving together and the patterns were the same but the colours were different. Can the scanners be set to oppose each other? i.e. when one moves left the other moves right.

Gordon, I'm not familiar with the holder in that model of effect, but usually it's the holder that's faulty. The old enemy heat is the culprit. ;) :( Is it not possible to cut the wires to the holder, and splice in the new ones, that's normally what I do. ;)

djgordyp
07-12-2008, 09:26 AM
As you say, Excalibur, heat is the problem. I had considered putting tinfoil around the pins of the bulb but then that would be too hazerdous.

The best/only option would be to splice the wires and join the new to the old. Even with the whole enclosure removed it will be an awkward job.

I'll order a couple of those holders anyway and maybe have a go at it when I'm off over christmas.
