What other controllers work with Daslight virtual controller 2 program? Is it just the daslight products? Im looking for a USB DMX dongle. Looked at the daslight one but there is any cheaper that works with said program. That one comes in at about £135.

I love it well worth it, making the fixtures at first was a bit nippy but after a couple of hrs got the hang of it.

Been looking at the cheap one from Daslight and well its pretty pathetic really. 30 steps, 30 fixtures and only 60 channels. Poor really when i could get one cheaper and use all 512! but on a different software :(

I know it's out of your budget but if you can stretch then what about a ryger footlight???

It's about £350 atm but will be going up in price but not to sure when.

I bought one and its fantastic. Just need to get programming on daslight to get some shows up.

I would be shocked if you liked it i was sucked into buying cheaper hence I now have two dmx hardware/dmx controllers...

While i was an apprentice i was once told....and iv normally stated true too..

Always buy what you cant afford..

Daslight and ADJ mydmx are almost the same, mydmx software will not control the daslight dongle, but daslight software will control the mydmx dongle.
There are some awesome features on the software , such as drawing a path with as many steps as you like ,so a scanner/barrel/moving head will follow the drawing.
I never used to bother with dmx as I used to think it was to complicated , but this really is easy to use .

there are 2000 fixtures to choose from, also a easy to use fixture editor, one light that was not there was the impossibled , but after asking on the support forums , the ADJ revo3 fits the bill.
The 3d visualizer hogs the memory, but thats the only down side I can see.
I run this on a old dell latitude c610 with 384mb ram on a p3 , even with all 17 fixtures running, it puts no strain on the cpu.

I was only saying i tried the cheaper option and it was not for me hence the reason i bought daslight....But i will stand to be corrected..

Would love to see head to head the both bits of hardware/software to see what comes out best...

In the mean time daslight its for me......

The program is the same as Daslight as said, It does the same as the more expensive models minus the internal memory. I'm happy, doesn't matter if it doesn't have the bells and whistles.

Vectis, Download the software from the site and play with that. The dongle doesn't really matter if you can work the software that's the main point!

Cool... will do :) Have used Daslight before but I'm currently Freestyling with the Velleman interface and not relishing reworking all the scenes to add in my new uplighters

Where did you source the interface and was it in stock?

Heres a screen shot of my setup in 3d view.

http://www.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4616&stc=1&d=1227454390

at the back is a strobe, 3 par can each side , and on the truss falcon-ADJ sprectrum fx-ADJ revo roll-impossibled-ADJ revo roll-ADJ sprectrum fx-falcon.
In any one wants the files to play with , just ask.
As there is no impossibled fixture, I used the revo 3, only problem is the led segments are a little different .
in 10 channel mode channel 2 is the centre array , channel 3 to channel 8 are the outer segments , however segments 4 and 6 are reversed, so to get a circular pattern you need to go 1,2,3,6,5,4 .

If there are no profiles for the fixtures you want you can go and ask for them on the ADJ forum. I have asked and its almost ready for my Chauvet DJ Squeeze! I think there should be a part of this forum for fixture profiles that people can upload and share. Just an idea.

If its just a USB to RS232 converter then there are stacks on ebay for peanuts.
