After having them in place for four years, I've finally got round to having my terms & conditions checked by a solicitor, and she's just given them the green light this morning, which is obviously good news.

I'm just wondering how many of you have also had your terms checked by a solicitor, and if so, did they find any problems which might be helpful to others?

How much did it cost you Rob? I've often thought about doing the same thing. I've just overhauled mine and combined them with another contract, which I beleive was approved by a solicitor at one point. But I'm not sure if my alterations and own terms I've added might cause a problem.

To be honest, Danno, nothing...as my brother's current girlfriend owns a solicitors business!

That's probably why I've never had them checked until now!!!

Does this Solicitor specialise in Contract law otherwise im not sure how useful the exercise would be.

Having worked in the Insurance business and been involved with various legal aspects including Trusts im happy with mine.

For people in the South presumably the SEDA Contract is the one to use according to Theo.

I have no idea, Tony...as I wasn't charged!

I have no idea, Crazy.

All I know is that she's a solicitor, so regardless of her area of speciality she'll presumably know a lot more about the legality of my terms & conditions than I do...and that's good enough for me!

She did mention that she thought one or two of them were a bit harsh on the client...but they still got the green light, so any doubts I previouslt had have gone.

:D

No Tony, I've never made enquiries before.

It's always something I wanted to do, but I never got as far as getting an idea of costings.

Any Socilitor will be able to say whether a contract is valid or not.

Think about it. They're probably in Court, and dealing with divorce, deaths etc, week in week out.

I doubt a Disco Contract is going to be majorly Challenging to them.
