Booth Outpot

i know it's possible, but is it probable to be using the booth output on the back of my pmx-1800, to use it as a standard output e.g. for powering my x-over, or using it for my bass enhancer, or feedback destroyer, cos it seems to that i've run out of outputs, the amp output and the level output, was just wondering if i can use the booth as another output.

just wanted to maker sure before i crack on and do it, and risk say fubaring the outputs.
obviously this is conbtrollable by twist nob on the top.

any ideas

It is possible I used the booth for other a year on the kam 1500 pro. It was better for my needs but I put the master so the leavels say on 0db when turning up the booth it do not distort either.

No reason why not really, other than a lot of booth outputs don't include your mic channel (If used as intended, to monitor output in a booth you would be in quite high danger of feedback if it did). So it depends on what you intend doing.

I am a little confused as to why you want to connect the items you listed through a separate output.

The crossover should go between the mixer and the amps so should be connected to the main out.

Likewise the feedback destroyer should as you would want it to cut the frequencies from the speakers that are causing the feedback.

Also the bass enhancer should be connected in the chain between the main out and the amps.

I have a similar set up on one of my rigs and it goes from main out to feedback destroyer, to sound enhancer then to the crossover.

There wouldn't be any point having it go to a feedback eliminator, if there isn't one in-line on the main outputs too, as only the feedback frequencies on the booth-out speakers would be attenuated.

Don't worry about fubaring the outputs. Apart from the fact they are meant to be used to output a line-level monitor signal, no reason they can't be used to power a FOH - There is the Microphone issue Corobar Steve mentioned though.

One more point, Booth outputs, from my experience are often Phonos, and main-outputs are XLRs on a mid-pro mixer. So, there might be a little more channel noise on the booth-outputs, as they're unbalanced. This isn't really a big issue unless you're particularly fussy.
