Hi all.

I have been booked to do a end of term school disco for 400, 11 to 14 year olds! I kind of took the job on thinking I wouldn't get it by putting in a big quote but it didn't put 'em off unfortunately!

I haven't done anything like this before and need some advice on the type of music that'll keep the little blighters dancing. The gig starts at 1pm and finishes promptly at 3.15pm

I would be grateful for any suggestions please.

Kind regards

my advice would be start with the recent now cd's,high school musical and chart stuff r n b and dance music is a must have for that age imo and have some party songs like cha cha slide/soldier boy /maccarena etc, they won't be affraid to tell you what they want and problably after the first 15 mins you will have a request list big enough to last you into the new year.
do a search of the forum you will find plenty of threads with song suggestions
good luck

Thank you Andy and Daryll for your suggestions.
I'm off to hang myself now, for not introducing myself in the newbie section.

Have New Model Army branched into doing discos now?

Can i suggest taking a wad of a4 paper and a hell of a lot of pencils (even cut them in half so you save cash) and put them down and get them to write their requests/shout outs down.

Sorry, you can't put comments like that even if they are in jest. Post edited.
