Can you get carbon monoxide poisoning if you don't have any gas in your home?

We have a little bit of a dispute here in the happy home....:D :D :D

I say you cannot get carbon monoxide poisoning from burning coal and the MD says you can.....
I've google it and still get mixed report's :confused:

From what i understand, i don't think it's guaranteed but it's possible. We've got one of those Carbon Monoxide alarm things in our front room because we have a coal fire.

Yes if there is a poor supply of fresh air and poor ventilation to allow the smoke and that to escape. Coal Gas anyone :D

From what I understand, carbon monoxide escapes as unburned gas, where the fuel burning process is flawed. So technically, I think it would be possible.

On a serious note get an alarm or a patch you stick on the wall.

get an alarm .......... we had all our gas checked 2 weeks ago and the guy said don't bother with the patches ...... as ........ over time they go dusty/dirty and more people phone up because of this than actually have a problem an alarm is a much better option.

I thought it was the other way round.

There is one gas that is used at some functions we dj at. Lots of this gas breathed in can kill you.
