I think this whole thing is getting rediculous. In the case where the whole track along with the video has been posted they may have a point, But in the vast majority of cases there is no monetery gain from posting a video clip that happens to have music playing in the background.
Take for example a mobile dj takes his camcorder along to a gig. He shoots a few minutes of footage to show off some new lights. I fail to see how a record company/artiste would be losing out financially or indeed would need to give permission for this footage to be shown just because their music is playing in the background.

What next. Are we going to be limited to the volume we can play music at in our own homes (noise pollution issues aside) in case someone else might hear it:eek:
