For 2009, I am adding in live PA services (wet hire + sound engineering) to the mobile disco, both as a standalone and alongside the mobile rig.
The name I have chosen is already used by a live PA company in Germany, but there is no-one in the UK using that name, and nothing registered at Companies House.
(I'm not saying what the name is, in case someone registers the domain name and then tries to sell it to me, I've had that happen before!)
My question; can a company in another EU country raise any objections to me using the same name, as long as I am not trying to pass myself off as them? Will a small disclaimer sort the problem out, or can I expect a Cease & Desist letter in German at some stage?
The main problem I can see is that I will be offering a similar service and am using the same name - does the Channel grant me immunity...?
