Hi Guys,

just wondering how many of you rely on Yell for your bookings. I have no presence on there at the moment, and was considering jumping on and doing it. But the price tag of £300 +vat was putting me off slightly.

No! Not had a phone call in 3 years from it.

I also have another business interest, and we've cut down our Yellow pages presence to a single line, because we got nothing from a full quarter page spread

just wondering if it is the way forward for Discos

No no no no no no no no no ... :bang:

You'll get a LOT more bang for buck with the disco, entertainer and wedding-specific directories, including this one although in the interests of fairness other directories are available ;) Some free, some not. All worth checking out.

Ive got the free listing and its generated 2-3 bookings in about 12 months. Just birthday parties though, nothing like weddings etc.

As the old joke goes--

Even the time wasters dont phone up anymore:D :D :D

If you are looking to develop business at cheap rates probably useful---otherwise probably not!

My experience is that the serious quality clients who were ringing 5 years ago from YP or Yell now use the Internet going to Google mainly.

£30 a year to host a website--no contest--as I had to point out to the Yell rep:D

Others may have a different experience---its a big marketplace.

But next year Mobile Entertainments of all kinds are going to be heavily price driven other than for "special events" in my opinion.

there are hidden benefits such as a very powerful reciprocal link?

Paid out for both sides of my business to have 2 adverts in Mobile Dj section and Equipment repairs in 4 areas for one year, in colour and 5 inches high by a coloum width. Looked the part, was better then others in the area and got 5 enquires and 1 booking for £2800 cost.
Last year free linage ad in the yellow book at 4 bookings, So we have decided to tell Yell.com and Yellow pages in polite words to forget it. As its just a waste of money.
More rather give it to the misses to go shopping with then spend it with them. Lol

I've had a free ad on Yell.com for the last year, which has been about as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike.

It's produced one phone call from someone who said she wanted to book, but never returned the booking form, despite my chasers.

Complete waste of time.
