Evening all,

Im currently looking for an active speaker around 400w which will be used for a number of tasks. Ideally i have been looking at W-Audio PSR12A's or SRM450's - but I cant find the info I want.

Do any of these speakers have EQ control? or just volume controls on the speakers themselves?

I will be running a small Mackie SRM150 to the larger active speaker - via the 150s mixer.



Any info greatly appreciated. thanks.

I'm guessing that if you're looking at SRM 450's you mean 400w RMS... but if not! Tapco Thump speakers have Hi Mid and Lo Eq on the back, plus an adjust for the Mid frequency.

There is a picture of the back panel on page 8 and it doesn't seem to have any bass or treble controls

It doesn't. Though it has a low cut switch which cuts certain frequencies I believe.

I have a pair of EVSXA100s and they have eq on the back of them.

There are indeed no tone / EQ controls on the back of SRM 450's - The 'Low Cut' button takes out frequencies below 75Hz, and the 'Contour' button gives a boost at top and bottom end for low level sound, e.g. background music - a 'loudness' button, effectively.

I.e. I have 'Contour' on for background / wedding breakfast etc etc, and then switch that off and 'Low Cut' on when DJing full volume with the active sub.
