Hope you all had a good Christmas :).

I've just spent an absolute age trying to find a list of directorys designed for us DJs - now I remember (I think it was Rob) posting a list of about 20 sites somewhere on the forum. But I can't find it for the life of me.

Does anyone know where it is!?

Long time no see...where have you been hiding?

You're right, it was me who posted this list, and I've since tried searching for it...also with no success. However, all is not lost.

Nigel put it on his site: http://www.rockingdjdisco.co.uk/

If you scroll down the home page, it's towards the bottom. Parts of it are hard to see, so you'll need to hit "Control" & "A" and all will become clear!

I think there are about 40 sites there, but they'll need checking, because (as Darren pointed out when I first posted the list) some of them are no longer active.

I've just checked through the list, and of the 40 sites listed, the following 4 no longer exist:

Hi ppentertainments,

From previous feedback, this seems to depend on a number of factors, including the area of the country you're in. Therefore, some sites which work well for me may not work so well for others.

However, I know exactly which sites work best for me, as I keep a document detailing the number of hits to my website from each one.

The best two by a mile are my premium listing on www.hitched.co.uk which costs £125 a year and my standard listing on www.discoagency.co.uk which only costs £25 a year.

Of all the hits to my website from the 30 or so sites where my listings have a link to my site, over 60% of these hits come from the above two sites alone.

Other sites which do quite well for me are:

www.weddingdirectories.com (£55 a year)
www.easyweddingsearch.com (£14 a year)
www.ultimatebridal.co.uk (£32 a year)
www.disco-directory.com (free)
www.weddingplanner.co.uk (£47 a year)

That would depend on a lot of things surely? I am about 60 miles from Rob and advertise on some of the same sites that he says are great for him and I've had nothing!

It does seem to be a problem. I actually find none of them to work. 3 bookings from uk-disco in past year and thats it.

I just take out the free ads for the first year to monitor how successful they are. I think I may upgrade with uk-disco as the 3 bookings I did get were all nice weddings.

Yes Darren...I remember a few comments like this when I first posted the list & said which sites work best for me, which is why I included the following statement this time:

I must say I find it really strange that the same sites can produce such wildly different results for different businesses...even those which aren't all that far apart.
