Hi,

I seem to be able to get in now - try refreshing

I like your automated photo gallery, just a slight criticism (my website's not perfect) there doesn't seem much information about what you offer or what you have done.

Hi,

All I can get is your opening page, the one with the musical notes flying around.

SJS

Same here.. so based on that I'd say "yes" !

No yellow writing here...

It seems like its a firefox issue though, as it does work in IE.. but something worth looking at nonetheless.

I do like the design, but because it's all flash based it won't rank as highly on the search engines as normal sites.

I also think you need more content, as there really isn't much about you and what you do.

Your site doesn't really give much information and the pictures make it look like your a club dj rather than a childrens entertainer.

The body of the site would look much better in the middle of the page rather than at the top.

On your contact form there is no mention of name. I'd get rid of the subject as that is pretty obvious why they are emailing you.

On your welcome page you have:

"Welcome to the online home of starlight discos, north london premiere mobile disco provider.
We are an experienced and professional company offering mobile discos for a broad range of events to suit all ages and taste
You want your event to be perfect and choosing a quality mobile disco is a crucial part of your plan. At starlight discos we are proud to offer mobile disco entertainment that is second to none . We can promise you exprienced and friendly djs great music and a outstanding light show.
Whether you are planning a wedding or a birthday celebration or just a really great party we can provide a fantastic atmosphere that will make your special occasion a memory to remember forever.
Take a look around our site and if you like what you see then call us for a quote at prices to suit your pocket."

Which should be:

I'm not sure about this bit as there isn't really alot of information on your site.

On your kids disco page you have:

"We provide disco entertainment tailored to suit all children & ages from tots to teens.
The dj can adapt the music & games to suit your age group and ensure fun is had by all leaving you to relax watching your little ones have the time of there lives.
Our children,s package normally last 2 hours although this is flexible if you require longer then let us know when you book.
Starlight Discos regulary provide children discos for schools, summer clubs, school fetes, as well as birthday parties."

Why not have a look at other people websites on here to get an idea.

discomobiledj is spot on with his text changes.

Always gives a good impression if the text on a site is easy to see, easy to read and spelt properly.

Keep working on it, you've made a bright start.

I like the general look of the site but agree it needs more content. The spelling, punctuation and paragraphing needs some work too, just some bits I picked up on: :)

North London's premiere

a memory to treasure forever.
or
a memory that lasts forever.

The writing is better......I personally think you should start again. I've looked at your host and it's quite expensive. If you want some help pm me. You need to make your site more child friendly rather than club dj. Take a look at Mr Mayhem's website (www.bumble-b-roadshow.co.uk)and see what I mean.

Built in flash not good in the view of SEO.

Not strictly true, the content is duplicated for non-flash enabled browsers.

I think it's already been said, you need more content for sure, personally I'd make the typeface bigger and/or a bit more of a contrast to the background, not everyone as great eyesite. The bigest fault I found was it was VERY slow loading compared to other sites

There's also a couple of small errors on the front page
London should be capitalised
great music and an outstanding light show. (not a)

Hi Marc,

I'd like to offer my 'professional' opinion on your site from a web designers point of view.

I'm assuming here that your are more of a childrens entertainer rather than being a wedding DJ. Of course please do correct me if I'm wrong (most likely :D )!

Your site seems to be a little 'bland' on the design side of things and by that I mean for a mobile disco website you perhaps need to include a little colour into the main template. For me the overall design of the website feels a bit dull. Visitors are looking for a DJ who can provide a happy atmosphere for customers, try projecting this into your website so that as soon as visitors view your site they are presented with a happy feeling.

I know it's only a website, but being a web designer as a main occupation I feel that you could perhaps do with a website that gives a much more positive feel.

However, I do like the wording, and the pictures are very good. Gives people the impression they've been taken from your gig using those types of cameras! :D

I also like the blue background, perfect blue for a childrens entertainer and white is also good. The site just needs a bit more of an interesting structure.

My apologies if I seem to be putting you down, this isn't the case at all. I do think you've done VERY well for your first website and wish you the best of luck.

If you would like further information, or some help then please do let me know via PM or email.

Good luck and thanks for reading my very boring reply :sofa: :coat:

It should say " North London's premier mobile disco provider." having said that, says who? There is very little evidence to substantiate the claim!
