Hi Everyone,

I don't know whether this in the correct place (admin, feel free to move it)

I am looking at buying the ACME Dynamo 100W Scanners (set of 4)

What do you think of them and should I go for them? If so, does anyone know where i'd get the best value for money?

Cheers,

SJS

I have got 4 of them and they are great little units, especially when you link them togeather. Just do a google search and look around for the cheapest deals. Most packages will include DMX leads and also a CA-8 Controller.

By the way (I've never said this one before!), you're better off saying hello in the Newbies section before jumping straight in.

Think Gary spotted your age as 1 and not your post count :)

They are great little lights. However i would recommend getting a dmx controller as the sound-to-light is a bit manic. :)

Hi guys,

I already have a Chauvet Stage Designer (16), this should be more than adequate, do you think?

Good light for the money.

SJS, My apologies....as noted already, I confused the age thing with post count. No offence.

Try looking at the dynatwins

http://www.jbsmusic.co.uk/view/1574/

Compact and easy to set up, used in bursts quite effective.

Dont leave them on in Grannys face at the Wedding Reception;)

Hmm.....that Dynatwin looks pretty good, but does it have the same functions as the Dynamo's.

I've just seen a video of the Dyntwin in action and it has a LED pattern - aaagh!

Main problem i found with these is the mirror breaks if not cared for properly. they are also heavy for size.

You can get four lights and tbar here: http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/prodpage.asp?prodid=1527
You can probably get them cheaper elsewhere, but ask for a CA8 and leads included for same cost and upgrade t bar to winch one.

I would personally go for two dyna twins and try to blag a carry case for them too. much better. Brilliant lights. i regret selling mine

OK cheers,

I have a Rhino 4ft Deck stand which has most lights on, but in big venues I use a truss (http://www.djstore.com/item/stands/sky180605.htm) which I put behind me, which I am hoping to put these new scanners on.

I already have a set of 3 x Chauvet Omega II Scanners, but I want to go with ACME instead
