mine and someone on the forums does that, its normal, and hope you read the manual, dont plug in your speakers for at least 3seconds after turning it on

Wrong. The correct way to power all the sound up is to wire all the equipment up such as mixer cd players ect. Turn the power on to all of the PA equipment and then turn the amp on last. This is the way I have always done it and what I have been told from the manufacturers.

Thats strange--its usually the other way round---dont switch on without speakers CONNECTED.

I think he means connect everything together, but start turning on in this order: CD players, Mixer then the AMP.

That way, mixers without softstart don't blow your speakers with any power on bursts of signal.

I could be wrong though :D :zip:

I wouldnt have thought the order mattered--I turn the amp on first to make sure its working OTHERWISE major problem:eek: --speakers always connected of course:D

Email them and they will sort out a return. You will receive an email from the courier with a label and details on what to do.Phone the courier to arrange a collection time.

I returned something mid last week and had a text yesterday to say replacements had been dispatched.

What i mean is turn it on in order all wired up (apart from speakons in amp output) then Music source, mixer then amp with all levels at 0 then after 3seconds plug in speakons (What is says in the t.amp manual)

I'm with Steve on this one. Amp on last, with gains at min, cabs plugged in. Very often the red lights take a while to go out.

A thought occurs. Try another IEC cable to power it. My C-Mark ( looks a lot like a Thomann ;) ;) ) won't turn the red lights off with some leads. Old ones work better.

Read though the manual, and read it again, aslo you will see fault lights which stay on for ages once turning it off

Ok before sending back things to check.

Are you providing the correct impedance to the amplifier. To little will create this fault.

Is bridge mode active if so are you using bridge mode if not this should be off.

Do your speakers work. If the speakers were not working it would give a load of 0 ohms to the amp so it would assume fault.

Are you overloading the input stage of the amp. ie. are you feeding it with the correct input power.

And speakers the final stage of the sound setup should be plugged in ' before, any power switches are turned on. Not all amps have zero load protection. If you didnt plug speakers in it would melt the output stage transformers in seconds. And I have seen it done before.

have you checked your speakons for a loose connection, you could have a short with the +ve & -ve touching.

try unplugging all speakons and signal leads, turn the gains to zero then turn on the power. If it goes to fault still then you definately have a faulty amp.

If it doesn't then it's a lead or speaker fault....good luck, it's a biatch when new toys arrive broken!

Tony and Matthew, I'm assuming that CJ is using cabs and cables which are known to work with another amp.
I'd suggest substituting the amp therefore, just to check, and then do as suggested, and wait. If the red lights persist, swap the IEC cable. As I said, one of mine hates new IEC cables. Old ones, no probs. I'd be surprised if it were faulty out of the box. Not amazed, but surprised.

That's strange, wonder if it's an earth problem? if it was a neutral problem you'd probably get no lights? :)

Yes Cmark is the same as the t AMP, have to say I have 2 of these and they work fine, if you power it up then switch it off there is a long dwell on the red leds. Power off, disconnect everything check your cables, once your happy your cables are in order reconnect every thing up and power up, that's the order we use. If its DOA Thomann are very good for returns I agree with what Mission said.

Good luck

The one thing I don't know is if it's common on these amps or not. Come on Justin, how long does yours take to go out?

Mine take around 1-2seconds to click off

At least it went faulty at home and not at a gig !

When you get your replacement give it a good work out before trusting it at a gig......

I believe Tony Scott uses the exact same one, and reckons it's good value for money. The C-Mark is marginally different, but nothing major. CJ, please try another mains cable, if only to shut me up. :zip: :D I'm wondering if you've got a cable with these stupid foreign adaptors on, which I mistrust in a big way.

I'd love to agree Rob, but it's simply Standard Practice. ;)
