View Full Version : LED effects...a favour?

You may remember from previous posts that I'm still somewhat in the stone age. I only abandoned vinyl late last year! My light show currently consists of 2 Double Derbys and an unknown ACME gobo effect I bought at a car boot a couple of years ago. Though they've served me well, and I've never had a complaint, I feel they look dated, so an upgrade is probably due.
Anyway, I'm spending some money in the next few months on kit, having barely spent any over the past fifteen years, and I can't get my head around LED effects like the ImpossibLED. From the videos I've seen, thay look fantastic on an empty dance floor, but I can't picture what they'll look like on a packed floor.
So, the favour. Would anyone local to me running this kind of kit be kind enough to let me pop in on your gig for an hour one night, just to get my head around the lights?
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Know what you mean about the packed dance floor jon. When dance floor gets packed you can always point it up at the ceiling if you feel you dont get a great effect from them. Par cans i think are a must i feel because they bright lights even when its packed

There are several mixes of it and some are quite long. The Clubland one is about right for a general gig as it's the version most people tend to know.

The song can be condensed to a few minutes if its mixed right though :D I tend to carry the extended versions and not radio edits as you can always que it up to a similar length as a radio edit.:)
