This was sent to me earlier today http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/NoNoiseControl/, now either I've missed something since before Christmas, or it's not been on any of the forums or association web sites.

Anyway, my understanding is that all venues will have to have limiters and it will be condition of their entertainment license. The email that was sent to me stated the limit would be 70db.

The petions finishes tomorrow so can we pass this to as many people in the entertainments industry, and get it signed. At the moment they have just over 80,000 signatures which may not be enough to get it looked.

If it has been around, and I don't think it has, and you have signed already - Thank you.

Just had a quick read of that thread. For me I think there should be some law against sound levels however. Most of the time certain systems in venues only damage your hearing because they're not setup properly. Some systems are not loud in a sense but damage your ears because of the badly setup sound.

Does anyone agree with me, or should I get my coat and leave quickly...

It goes to show that the government do look at the e-petitions system. My faith in it has been restored! :D

Posted my agreement to the petition ages ago and then was informed that there was no need to worry at this time.

However, the fantastic response from music fans shows how serious they are taking it and I suppose we will now have to wait and see if they will take notice. If they do, it will also show how powerful music fans are at lobbying.
