The Perils of Working Alone

I just thought I'd mention about working alone, as a few months ago I had a lot of hassle with some party guests.
It had been a good party, loads of dance and party stuff, and a bit of Karaoke, as you do.
The problem started the end of the night when taking my gear to my vehicle.
Speaker stands started 'walking' and after I found them, I then found someone sitting in the back.
I cleared him off, then I got some more stuff then I found the same lad, who was a member of a group of sitting outside the pub, sitting on my bonnet he started running over my vehicle.
Luckily I had finished loading at this point, So I gave them a few choice words and cleared off.

Theres not many places I get hassle at,but another that jumps to mind is when I did a 12 hour wedding in Birkenhead, yes a 12 hour gig. They also expected me to look as fresh at the end of the night as I did when I started.

After all the effort I put in, the bride and groom didn't bother introducing themselves, which I thought was rude, and after all that they even let the tyres of my vehicle down. Not very nice.

As I say, I don't usually get much hassle, but it happens.

Has that sort of thing ever happened to any of you?

if it's a wedding i always meet the bride and groom beforehand,any other event i make sure i introduce myself to the person,they have more important things than me on the night

One big thing about discos is unless its a kiddies party then there is usually booze around. Some people can handle it better than others.
Sadly its us DJ's who often get on the wrong end of someone who is tanked up.

Personally I try to deal with it by being friendly rather than telling them what I really think. Being friendly usually gets a better response than abusing them.

Once upon a time, I used to use a trailer with a ramp, much like a cattle truck. At a Marquee Wedding, with an atrocious load out, a group of guests thought it was funny to put the bride in the trailer, and make mooing noises. I didn't. When I opened the ramp, and dropped the ramp on said guests, they didn't think it was funny. I did. ;) :D :D :D
