Hi all,

I have just posted a video of, one of the many configurations of, my disco on YouTube.

Could you tell me what you think please.

Also, at my next gig (this saturday) I am hoping to record bits during the night and then piece it all together to make a promo video.

What should I include, as eventually I want to upload it to the website to show potential customers what I can do?

If I were being totally honest, that is a complete waste of time. You have a few lights moving about randomly and you can't see the beams enough for them to be effective.

Would you recommend making a good Promo Video to upload to my website?

If yes, what should I make sure is included in it?

If you want to capture your lights a bit better, use a haze machine and fill the room before you video as you won't get a big puff of smoke then. Try and use things in 2s or 4s rather than on their own and don't make the video too long. Include footage of people dancing as that will sell your service a lot better than a few flashing lights.

OK, same principle applies - fill the room with smoke and then let it fade a little first before filming.

Cheers Daz, just saved me writing so much :D.... Scott, i agree with Daz :D :D Also, with using smoke/haze, i dont think you need it to be quite so dark. It just looks like random flashing lights, a touch lighter and you should be able to make out the outline of a mobile disco (IMO). :)

One thing, watching that video I would assume that you are a club DJ

This one happened to be an 18th, hence the Club DJ look.

I personally wouldnt film an 18th, exactly for the fact you look like a club jock, try and get a more general event, 30th for example, where you have more chance of a cross section of ages. It just portrays a better image, imo :)
