This stands to be my first totally free weekend since LAST January
I had a couple of race night enquiries for the same weekend but persuaded them to go for a different weekend on the pretence I would be busy - especially as Valentines day falls on a Saturday.
I have not had 1 disco enquiry for the weekend - anyone else the same or is it just me ??

The vast majority of venues around these parts don't go for the "& disco til late" thing especially at Valentines.
I have a kids party and a 30th on the Friday, Saturday off at the mo :)

I'm really surprised but so far I've got a free weekend also.
I normally have a children's disco at a local restaurant booked for Valentines but have not heard anything this year:(
In fact the whole of February seems quiet so far!

I have a great 40th birthday to do on Valentines Day and have had loads of enquiries for Friday the 13th too. I am doing a regular venue on that night and my other DJ is out doing a birthday party for me.

I haven't even had one enquiry for 14th February.
However, my best friend's agency has 5 bookings for that night & it looks like he only has 4 Djs available, so it seems I might now be working that night, albeit for a greatly reduced fee.
I have a charity gig for the 14th February. :D.
The client has ask for glam rock as well as normal rock and roll.
Things just get better and better. Lol

I've got a 40th on Valentines day and have had to turn down 2 other enquiries for it. I did ask the perspective clients to have a valentines party on the 13th or 15th instead, but for some reason they weren't up for it miserable sods. :p

Apart from valentines day , it`s also my wedding anniversary, so any mention of the words "I`me out DJing tonight" will result in near certain death , if not worse..:D :D :D .

Valentines Day is my eldest daughter's 22nd Birthday.
Last year I played the sounds for her at a Greenwich pub for her 21st Birthday.

I have a 14th Birthday / Valentines disco on 14th.
The playlist that came back has some very strange songs, one of which I can't seem to find :- Star Trekking by The Firm
I think south park did a cover of space trekking.
It has no swearing it the song. I don't know if that would be suitable for a 14th?

I found it on a Greatest Hits of The 80s compilation on the web but the download site is US, so not sure what the legality is when you download from outside the uk?

Seems not many people doing valentines gigs. Normally valentines does not seem to bring much work in but thought with it falling on a saturday could be different.
I was out yesterday talking to venues and most of them had the same feedback - they are reluctant to put any entertainment on as people don't support it. I have got some regular midweek work doing karaoke and Rock discos, but even then the venues will not commit to anything incase of lack of support.
