I guess many of you have probably already seen this but I've only just come across it , I think it looks like very good value for money and could handle most situations, what do you think ?

I think this is a new addition to their range, I haven't seen an EP4000 before.

However, if the EP2500 is anything to go by, then it shouldn't be a bad buy. According to many on speakerplans and squatjuice, the Behringer EP2500 is the best of the bunch by far, in the budget amplifier league.

As long as you remain mindful of its entry level price point, and don't abuse it like you can a VZ, you're unlikely to go far wrong. I'd probably err on the side of caution and not run it below 4r.

Seems a good price for such a high powered amp.

I abused mine for over 3yrs, I had 4x ep2500's bridged 4ohm doing Sub and Kick bass, kept them below clip onset and steeply filtered and they just kept going.
I was a bit apprehensive for the first few gigs but then stopped worrying...2 of them are still going doing a Karaoke install and two were sold to a free-party rig! (probably running some lovely 15" scoops!:D)

I see Blue Aran are going to be doing the ep4000 for £240...bargain! 'expected' march '09 so they should have them sometime around August!! :D

I have bought most of my speakers (drivers) from Blue Aran.
Great gear and great prices.

Yeah definately...I bought my 4x PD186's drivers and 4x ep2500's from them, they gave me a great discount and only charged me £18 for the carriage(140kg's)

Can that be serious????? 4000w at little over £250 notes?

I've never used that particular amp or any other berhinger amp, but I would seriously wonder what they've budgeted on to get it it to that retail price?

The Blue Aran site also shows a new EP2000 amp, roughly the specs of the 2500, yet £50 less.   Will we see a heavy discounting of the old stock 2500's as the new one arrive?

Just think how many Class-d's I could drive with a 4000. ;) :D :D :D :D :D

Don’t forget its 4,000 Watts into 4 Ohms bridged

Also, am I going blind it doesn’t say what it can do on 8 Ohms?

Behringer have built their own town in China, they house all of their workers there and manufacture everything they need onsite so they are in total control of every aspect of their products....this is how they keep costs down.

The EP power amps have been a real success so it's looking good for the 4000.....:)

No it doesn't say but I would think it would have to be at least 1000w per channel @ 8:r: which is still very good.

An amp like this is going to be perfect for my needs.

4000 watts at 4ohm bridge is perfect. lol.

I have a couple of 1500s and a couple of 2500s and (touch wood) they have never missed a beat.

Great pieces of kit.

I've noticed there are up for sale at quite a few places now. However, HTFR have their ratings listed as RMS and Peak, so the actually RMS ratings aren't all that much higher than the EP2500 which is a bit disappointing :(

# 550 watts per channel (rms) at 8 ohms
# 950 watts per channel (rms) at 4 ohms
# 1250 watts per channel (rms) at 2 ohms
# 750 watts per channel (peak) at 8 ohms
# 1400 watts per channel (peak) at 4 ohms
# 2000 watts per channel (peak) at 2 ohms
# 2800 watts peak power bridged at 8 ohms
# 4000 watts peak power bridged at 4 ohms]

On looking on other forums and specs on this amp it seems that Behringer is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
The ep4000 is just a rebadged ep2500
the rms specs are at 1kz (sine wave) instead of 20hz to 20kz.
The ep 4000 spec sheet (http://www.behringerdownload.de/EP2000_EP4000/EP2000_P0A38_M_Web_EN.pdf) does not even give you this rating as it would be about >700 watts into 4 ohms per channel.

My thoughts exactly. ;) Added to which, the 4000 might even be cheaper!
