I'm looking at getting a Solar 250- been looking at the "copies" from wildtech etc- anyone know if they are any good?
I'm thinking it is probably best just to pay for a Solar- anyone know of any good deals at the moment?

Id go for the solars. One of the clubs i occasionally cover had solars, and went with cheaper alternatives during a full refit.... 3 months later they got all of their solars refurbed and re-installed. make of that what you will :D

Because of the effect that they give possibly. They are far from pointless, not all lighting needs to be strobing/flashy/in your face. The Solars are perfect lighting for during a buffet, or equally at home in a chill out room. They give a costantly changing show, with little set-up over a good area. Just my thoughts :)
Just to add, ive only seen them with the rotary oil wheel...which looks fantastic. I know that theres other add-ons

they are one of the best lighting effects ever made- hence they have been around so long and keep their value so well.

We used to use one when I was in my band. But then we were a bunch of hippies. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/character/character0066.gif

yes- its essentially an industry standard projector- been around for ages - they last for a lifetime and you can get some interesting wheels for them, including an "adult" version.
