View Full Version : Colour Wash

When i bought my lighting for colour wash i went with the Visio Colour Fusion CF-805, now this isn't a bad light at all but i really don't like the look of them on trussing, so I use this as an uplight behind me and it does a great job. My dilema now is colour washing the dance floor. Thing is i'm DMX stupid and use master slave, sound to light. With that in mind I don't think the cheaper dip switch lights will be any good to me (maybe i'm wrong). Also after reading Gary (Shakermaker) uses 4 ledj 36's and rates them, it threw me as i was going to go for 2 ledj 56's. Well i'm going to tie myself in knots here so let me just give you the options i had in mind. (budget £180 ish)
1. 2 x ledj 56's
2. 2 x ledj 64's
3. 4 x ledj 36's
I also thought that floor standing may be a good option as I don't want my truss looking too busy and wanted to keep 4 scanners up there. I hope you can grab an idea of my dilemma, all advice and opinions will be helpful and remember i'm DMX stupid :D

Hi BH, I use 4 LEDJRGB256 units which have a very good throw, even two of them offer a very good wash of the dancefloor. The 10mm ones are very bright and offer full RGB mixing.
For larger halls or uplighting I use 2 iColour4 units, not LED but VERY powerfull (4x500watt)

Bellshill - I have 8 of the LEDJ's. I haven't yet used them on my goalposts as I generally use them for uplighting or for bands. When used for bands, I just have 2 T-Bars with 4 on each and it does the job well. I may well try using them on the goalposts. I have used them to highlight the equipment before and they worked well.
If you do go for the same as I have, give my mate John a call at Total Sounds in Reading and mention my name. He will pricematch sometimes and it's free next day delivery. You'll get 4 of them for around £155 I reckon.

2 of these any good? Whats the difference between that one and the ECO version?
I see the Kam Par Bar can be bought for a penny less than 200 notes now, that came down quick.

They are the 36's. This picture isn't great but it shows 3 in a large room.
