I ordered a CD from HMV in September 2007, it still hasn't been dispatched.
Although in fairness I haven't been charged for it either, as they only bill upon dispatch.

I've had this.
If eBay strike off a seller (or they close their account themselves), eBay will imediately deny all knowledge of them, even if there are pending transactions. There is no way of finding out contact details or anything.
It's all part of the customer protection offered by eBay that they are so immensly proud of, such as refusing to deal with undelivered goods, forcing you to raise a dispute with PayPal instead, which is how I got a refund when a seller vanished mid-transaction.
Unfortunately most of eBay's customer protection information and procedures is bare face lies:mad:

On the two occasions when transactions have gone wrong on the sellers side, I have had no problem getting the money back from paypal.

Same here. My point is that eBay bang on about their customer protection and that in the event of non delivery etc, then you raise a dispute through eBay, but then I've found it's actually impossible and you get forced to go to PayPal, who are just the payment handlers, not eBay themselves.
If you see what I mean!
In fact, I will ONLY pay by PayPal on eBay now:)

eBay and PayPal are one of the same company, and getting your money back is very easy if you follow the rules. It's much easier and quicker than dealing with most internet traders in my experience.
