BTW, if he paid £3,000 for it, then I'm a Dutchman. If I remember right, it was never more than £2,500 when new.

I don't think it's worth what he is asking, if you read the description it doesn't include the pair of full range speakers either side.
I always base my secondhand values at approximately half new price, maybe a little more if the item is in very good condition or particularly desirable but to be honest I think you could put something better than that together buying all secondhand for that kind of money.

It's probably ideal if four of you are just starting out.
The first time I went to Class D was just to get a pair of subs. That rig was set up in the demo room. " We'll just show you this" they said. "I don't want to buy one " said I. " We show everybody it" they said. :D :D :D So we stood there, trousers flapping in the breeze, listening to Dire Straits. :eek: :eek:
( Did I buy a tasteful pair of subs? No. ;) I heard these, and was overwhelmed.

£120 per pair, no probs. But they're 8ohms, so you don't get max power from the amp. :( :( :( What can we do to get round it? :confused: :confused:

Absolutely correct. The tops are the old small cabs, so not as desirable. It's at least £500 to £1000 too dear.

The ebay advert describes it as "wicked" and "very loud", yet conveniently omits any numbers to back up the "very loud" claim.
The seller is offloading it after just 9 months, by his own admission, to buy some professional PA (Turbo)

i've only had it 9 months so its practly still brand new only been used for 18 hours prob not even that!
If it was "wicked" surely then you of used it more than that? Plus the fact hes brought a newer rig

Not my cup of tea at all.

Please note. The playing of Pendulum is not restricted to bedroom DJ's in their teens. ;) ;) Some geriatric DJ's also think it sounds " wicked" :D ( Look at that, I've got street cred. :eek: :D :D )

Neither was I mate. :D I was just pointing out that even some DJ's who will never see 21 again like to wind it up in a big way. ;) ;) :D :D
BTW. The only music which doesn't sound better loud is music you don't like. ;) :D :D You know that for instance "summer of '69" requires the faders to be pushed up at least two notches. :D

..I noticed and was going to post that Tom! I wonder if they are paying a fee for using the design? 2000w...yeah right, why even quote that, I thought they were now Class-D Professional! :D

From what I have read on SP, the design is slightly different inside so I think they have got away with it.
As for 2000watts, you know its peak power. lol.
They say they are 500 watts rms for each cab. That I can believe but they would need to be tested to prove it. lol.

Interestingly, I saw an explanation as to why only some Mackies double up as space heaters the other day, and it fitted in exactly with observations on here. I was going to tell you, but now I don't think I'll bother. :p

I know what you are saying.:(. If I see a peak figure I just dive in, find the rms, spl, laugh if need be and move on. :)

Which would make it twice as loud.
So if Class-D spent more time in R&D, they should be able to get that 3db back and begin to play with the big boys. lol.

LOL...or they could use a decent driver! Then again if they want to produce a proper kick bin they should make these: singleUSB's with PD186's in them! :D
