How is March Looking ??

I know this thread crops up every month so will apologise. :o

However, midweek regular gigs aside March is looking dismall for me. I have a gig this Sunday(1st March) then apart from a Race Night on the 28th March NOTHING at weekends :eek: :eek:

As it stands this could be my worst ever month, especially as last minute calls seem to be few and far between at the moment. :(

I have all Saturdays apart from the 21st booked in March. I haven't done anything in January/February but that is fairly typical for me.

All fridays and saturdays filled for March. I have the 21st off though as I have to go to my sister in law's wedding in Norwich so the function I have is being covered for me by my other DJ.

We are double-booked on the 14th and 28th March, but nothing on the other weekends

We have also had to pass on a disco for each of the above dates.

I had 14 weekend gigs in January and 11 in February and after March things are looking good. Guess I will have to go away for a Month :D :D

March is always quiet here as most of the hotels haven't yet reopened the whole island seems to be in hibernation.

I have 4 Fridays booked, one is double-booked. So 5 gigs. That's about right for March. March is when the van gets MOT'd and tinkered with, and the gear gets serviced and PAT'ed so I'm kinda looking forward to it. Calm before the storm and all that. ;)

Are you saying you only work 4 Saturdays in each month ....in which case 2 bookings maybe good.....

....or do you say - 8 bookings per month Friday/Saturday and only 2 is poor.

I'm lost by this.....I've 6 bookings out of a possible 8...so not bad.

Good will mean different things to different people.

I do mostly weddings & get virtually no Friday work, so for me a good month from March to October will be one with 3 or 4 bookings, and an excellent month will have 5 or 6 bookings (all Saturdays & one or two Fridays and/or Sundays).

I very rarely have more than 6 bookings a month.

Aye, good point Tony. Didnt thionk of that. Ive 3 out a a possible 31 :D ....but more likely out of 8 (fri/sat). Strangely though, one of my 3 is a tursday night so does that make it out of 2 out of 8...with a bonus night for good measure. :)

I've got a booking in Bournemouth in March.

Not because I needed the work that badly that I was willing to travel that far, but because it's for regular customers (a Masonic Lodge's Ladies Festival) & it's a free weekend away for me & Angela (We go down there on the Friday afternoon, free meal & join in the quiz night they have. Saturday daytime is my own, this year as last I'll be watching the 6 nations games. Saturday evening, 4 course meal & about 2 hours work for the disco once all the formalities & raffle etc are over)
