If you're a working mobile DJ and only have your main rig plus essential back ups, then hiring out your gear is NOT a good idea. You could well find yourself having to hire gear in yourself to meet your own commitments, if any of your kit gets damaged, lost, stolen or returned late (and yes, it does happen) To do the job professionally you need a dedicated hire stock, consisting of modern good quality kit. People don't want to hire old tatty lights or cheap nasty speakers. (I'm not suggesting that is what you were planing to hire)
