Hi All,
I seem to be having a few technical difficulties lately, i bought a new mic a carlsbro cmw10 it came with an xlr lead, plugged a xlr to 1/4 stereo jack in the end then into mixer no sound, tried a different xlr cable and jack and another mixer, still no sound. Is the mic faulty or does it not work with dj type mixers with a 1/4 jack, any advice.
They say it comes in threes im waiting for my third.
Thanks.....Jaxx

Have you tried another mic with the cable/mixer? I reckon it should be a mono jack by the way. ;)

Have you tried anotehr mic and a cable and also have you checked that the mic channel is not swithced off or mute, I know it sounds silly but we have all made that mistake i'm sure.

If you still don't have any joy then I would reccomend you contact the supplier and alert them of your difficulties and arrange for the mic to be sent back and if you want a replacement or not.

Does the mic need phantom power ?
Most mixers have a phantom power switch on them.

I've made this mistake a couple of times when doing gigs. The mixer I have has a combined Mic On and talkover toggle switch. Sometimes I start talking and no sound comes out!! :daft:
