re denon dns3500........

Im finding my denons are taking longer to read discs when first inserted. Also Ive had a proplem with "Marcons Beggin" where it stops after the initial build up and the vocal "Im beggin" is about to play it will stop. Ive burnt three different cds with this track on and it doesnt always stop at this point but does quite often. In fact i usually have to set a clue point right at the point it usually stops. I also notice it do it on a couple of other tracks. Anyone know why this might be happeaning?

P.s i use a cd lens cleaner cd reguarly so doubt its dust on the laser....

How old is your cd cleaner ?
It might be worth buying a new one if the brushes on the old one are worn.
Did you put some lens cleaning fluid on the brushes ?

Its a few years old but ive only used it six times? Didnt use any fluid.

Its odd though its on this one track in particular and on three different cds....

I know some cd players struggle with CD-R's.

My previous cd player got upset if there were more than 25 tracks on a cd, it just refused to recognise the cd.

but this is the denon dns 3500. They rival the cdj1000's and are marketed as mp3 cd decks plus i never had this proplem with the first 18 months of constant use. Surely couldnt of worn the laser down already?

If you have had them a while and thye havent been used much it could still be a layer of dust on the laser.

I am loathe to suggest taking the top off and cleaning the laser head with a cloth as I will probably get slated for it.

If it's only that track, there is no hardware problem, surely. I assume you've tried it on other players? It's not in MP3 format is it?

Yes in mp3 format, all my music files are. I could understand if it was on one disc but three seems odd. Doesnt happean when i play the file off the computer. I properly need to check if it happeans on both decks or just the one

I used to use MP3 CDs on my Denons, but gave up on them in the end - the hassle wasn't worth it. That was before Produb too.

I remember once burning off and entire mixed disk from my PC to use in the van for a long drive to Sunderland. On the computer the mix was fine, but in the van, the mix had rather long gaps in between the tracks, something the burning process had decided to do.

With regards the Lens cleaning kit, I am pretty sure, though I would check with Mr French (Bouncy Dancefloor). That Denon do their very own cleaning kit that differs from a standard off the shelf high street jobby. I vaguely recall being told that Denon readers are positioned differently within the Drive units, and thus cant be cleaned with a normal cleaner.

If your players have had a lot of use, I would reccommend a service, that way you know it'll get a proper bath!
