You forgot Bootsy!

As for the hip-hop comparison, well, Grandmaster Flash and the Furiously Rummaging through the Op-Shop Bins could have done with some help with the less-is-more approach from their approximate comternporaries Run DMC...

...hang on, they look a little like 50 Cent and EMINEM :o  ;)

I'd also like to point out that at least the modern day skinheads actually have shaved heads!

Anyway, whilst not stars there are those that try...

(Rabbit in the Moon)

Also Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Genitorturers, GWAR, and that Nordic band along the lines of GWAR whose name I forget, oh, and of course Blue Man Group.

Let's not forget the Pussycat Dolls who are first and foremost a Burlesque act, Kylie who has a wardrobe change virtually every song, Madonna is also notorious fo multiple costume changes and as for Britney's Circus tour... see for yourself (http://uk.popsugar.com/2884975).

I'm not sure if we're talking about photoshoots or live gigs, but I'd rather the effort went into the music. Sometimes an artists image can enhance the effect of the music though, take Prodigy, for example.

Lordi?

Them's the ones.

Quincey Jones made Michael Jackson with his great music.

Michael wrote much of his music, in fact Quincey disagreed with Michael's intro to Billie Jean (Michael won). Quincey produced Michael, which in those days was a lot more about polishing the sound of the music than effectively co-writing it.
