Just a quick thread about the numark dimension 4 ampilifer, does anyone use one ?, could anyone shed any light onto the quality of this ampilifer, cheers damian

They are pretty good amps, the power ratings are misleading though, from memory they will only give out the power rating stated which I think is 1900w on a 2 ohm load and they get very very hot when they do.

I've PAT tested many of the Dimensions (3 and 4) over the years Damian, they seem to be a reasonable low budget power amp. The circular power switch panel tends to come away from the front panel fairly easily, I have seen several with this condition. If it is flightcased, this is less likely to happen.

I have just bought one, for a low price, i would never run an ampilifer at 2ohms, only 8ohm and for emergencys i would go into 4ohm, We,ll see how it performs when i get it out on the road, ive been told it has a rejucier or somthing ?

Nothing wrong with going down to 4ohm, this is the benchmark design standard for most pa amps.....and what's a 'rejucier'?

I regard 4ohms as the most useful balance between excess heat/damage and low output.

I think it's how you get your glass of squash refilled.

Our more Southerly readers may struggle to comprehend this, but on the way home from work yesterday, I had a pint of excellent stout ( not the Irish one, this was Yorkshire brewed) for £2.50. And when you've drunk eight, they give you one free. :eek: :D :D :D

The scheme's called " one over the eight" . You get a credit for each qualifying drink, and when you've got the credits, you redeem them. :D

i think they ment reducer, theirs a switch so you can go from 1900watts to 1600watts or somthing like that. :confused: :confused:

I currently use the numark dimension 4 amp.Its served me well.Very good amp for the money.

I know some amps have a sensitivity switch, which in effect limits the output.

Silicon transistors will run upto 150 degrees C before dying.

Brilliant things...rather light, very well built, sturdy, and seem like they will last a long time :) I have the Dimension 3, and I have noticed the amp's have a lot of safety features, to prevent any damage to the amp or your speakers. The power rating is not as it seems, unfortunately. I dare say they are a little weak....
