What's yours?
Music on the way home or silence? Food or drink when you get home or en route? Do you watch TV or how do you chill and relax after a gig? What time do you go to bed?

Presuming it's a late one, it's usually straight home unless the venue is in Ryde, in which case it's a McD's milkshake and then home :p
Luckily the van is secure when parked, so apart from grabbing a couple of laptop bags there's no kit to shift.
I usually take about an hour to wind down once I get home, so it's email time, check the forum :o , catch up on TV and then bed with a reasonable lie-in the next day.
I used to eat when I got in, but I'm trying to be good.

Always music loud ( cos I'm impaired from the disco. Just note how high you've had the stereo when you switch it on the next day. ;) ;) ) Rarely stop for food on the way home, and usually have a bottle at home. Really peeved that Hitman and Her is no longer on nowadays. :( :( Unless I'm totally wiped out, I can't go straight to bed.

Unload when I get back. Followed by a snack.....a whole pizza... :D ...a couple of beers in front of the telly.
After 2hrs ...hit the hay.

Music or talk to the wife/rodie, after we/I get home, it`s a glass of JD and watch telly to chill out, usually go to bed about an hour after I/we get home.

I will usually have something to eat as soon as I have finished loading up and then set off home where I will unload the car or van depending on what vehicle I am using. Check my emails and then straight to bed if I have a gig on the next day.

Straight home, cutting out expense of kebab etc, if not too late can of beer and a sandwich, otherwise cup of tea and sandwich.
Generally chill out for an hour before going to bed. If I go straight to bed I find it takes ages to settle down and nod off.

We usually go to McDonald's if there is one en route home.
Then when I get home, I put the car in a secured location with CCTV and thousands of £££'s worth of Anti-Theft devices and then go to bed, possibly grabbing a drink as I'm walking through the kitchen, usually Blackcurrant.
I unload the car the next morning.
Generally it's:-
leave gig
Stop after about 200yds from venue and double check the trailer is locked (bad experience in the past)
Food Stop (usually garage)
Home, trailer in the garage, laptop out of the car then
Straight to bed with 10-15 mins of getting home (if no food stop, then cheese on toast then straight to bed).
Sometimes have to stop and have 30-45 mins sleep on the way home, depending upon workload up to and around the gig & thanks to taking my little girl to school on Friday mornings and taking her to ballet on Saturday morning for 1000 :-)
Edit, forgot to mention:-
either Radio 5 up all night, Radio 4 or if I really want to torture myself and i'm in the car early enough i listen to the ern and vern show on BBC local radio, it's so crap and bad it makes me really angry, but can't help but listen.
I do miss the lady (i forget her name) that used to do overnight on Radio 2 playing smooth jazz, latin stuff. I remember i'd text in as soon as i got in the car and spend the next hr hoping that she'd read the text out (really good method to keep you awake, as you really pay attention during the links). It also good to listen out to see how many bands I knew who also texted in each Saturday. Anyone know what happened to her?

I usually make sure that everything is secure in the van and then it's the CD player on usually playing NIN or Depeche Mode with the window open. A can of Orangina (well into that these days, reminds me of being in Greece) and straight home. Van gets emptied and then as soon as I walk in, laptop goes on, check emails etc.
I always have a beer ready in the fridge (Red Stripe usually) and I have stopped eating late now for the past month as it isn't doing me any good at all....even though I only have toast.
How many times has anyone on here got in from a gig, cracked open a beer and then carried on and ended up getting to bed at stupid o'clock....normally after 5.30am? I've done it more than once but generally on a saturday night.

1. Load up van/MPV and leave venue.
2. Arrive at storage place and unload van/MPV
3. Get back in van/MPV and drive home
4. Arrive home, wave roadie/driver off and go in house
5. Put something quick and simple in microwave
6. Pour a drink (could be coffee, hot choc, milk, soft drink, beer or a short - depends on mood at the time)
7. Put food out, pick up drink and go and sit in front of tv for an hour or two
8. Go to bed
When I first started gigging, I used to go straight to bed but I'd wake up with a pounding headache especially after a really good gig. I soon learned that this was due to the adrenaline in my system not settling properly before I went to sleep. Now my routine lets me wind down fully and I wake up refreshed, happy and headache-free.
Experience - it's a wonderful thing! ;)

I take down the booth, lights and disconnect all wires and pack them into boxes. And wrap up the ropelights !
Then it all goes to the motor.
Usually spend an hour on the PC to relax before bed.

I don't eat after midday on the day of a gig simply because I don't want to chance having problems with the old guts like I used to have (it's not nice) so sometimes, yes I can go for 13 hours without having anything to eat which I know is not great. I combat this by making sure I drink lots to keep me going (and I don't mean the beer).
Eating late is bad too I know that but by then I am hungry.
This is why I am changing the whole way I do things from tomorrow and am using my spare time in the mornings to get myself fitter etc instead of feeling like a slob as the only excercise I get is either from the missus (ahem..) or when I am lugging gear around at the weekend.

Silence on the way home. If I'm passing an all-night McDonalds drive-thru I'll pop in for a quick bite to eat (and I wonder why I'm so overweight!), or make a sandwhich when I get home. Normally I'll have a few ciders and lie in bed watching a dvd or some telly. It's usually 4 or 5am when I eventually nod off.

I read it as you advising John not to eat for ten hours. He's a big lad, but even he finishes a meal quicker that that.

The censor banned my reply to that. ;) Anyway, Darren thinks Watford is where the North starts. :D :D

stagger home drunk knowing i can drive down the next morning to pick up gear...try to sneak in whilst her indoors is asleep, kick cat, knock over the milkbottles etc....
Go to toilet (forget to flush it- gives her a nice sunday morning sight ;)) take the ten minute climb up to bed with can of lager....climb into bed (after removing clothes and slap her on arse and say "your up next fatty".....then nod off to sleep.....

I always listen to the local radio station on the way home from a gig.
I don't have food or drink on the way home, or even after I'm home...apart from a few gulps of water to cool me off after unloading.
Most of my gigs finish at midnight & are quite local, so I'm usually home by 1am.
When I get home, I unload the van then put it in the garage.
After that, I'll watch TV for a bit, and usually go to bed around 2 to 2.30am.

So does that bring on another question, what do you think is an acceptable amount to drink (of the alcoholic sorts), if any at all while at a gig?
I've split the question into a new topic (http://www.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=18968) for you. It'll help keep the current thread on track. :)

Loud music on the way home (preferably Rock 'n' Roll / Psychobilly: Little Richard, Johnny Burnette Trio, Meteors, Guana Batz etc or 60s style Garage: Sonics, Fuzztones, Ghastly Ones, (Fabulous) Wailers, Seeds etc, but dependant on my mood & what's on the MP3 walkman). Can of Relentless in the van.
Unload & park up.
TV, if there's anything worth watching on when I get in or something I've recorded earlier in the week (usually cult TV the Avengers, the Champions, Randall & Hopkirk, the Saint, the Prisoner etc) Accompanied by a couple of cans or bourbon & cola & some of these

Or others from the same range.

Things are seriously picking up now, but that's not every month. I have 3 this month and another 3 next month but that's not to say I wont get any more for this month and so on.
I seem to get people booking in a months time. Which is ok, but it's a rush to get the money from the the client to bank so I have 14 days to clear it.

Well, I'll add my bit as I didn't originally :o
I usually drive home in silence as I find I've usually had enough of music by this time.
Once in, I put the kettle on while I unload the car (soon to be van) and then make a nice cup of tea (I can't drink coffee just before bed). Usually have a sandwich of cheese & pickle or cheese on toast if I can be bothered ;) . Watch TV for about 15 minutes while I eat & drink then feed the cats if the girls and wife have forgotten (usually evident by all 5 of them eye-balling my sandwich :D) then bed as quietly as possible so as not to wake the wife.

Sometimes get food on way home, music very queit, call a few other dj's to see how their night was, straight to bed when i get in.
Tend to listen to Jack Fm, which plays random obscure tracks you don't hear very often, on the drive home. Always chew gum too (no idea why, just a habit). Then when home, its tie off, shirt untucked, jacket/trouser pockets emptied onto table (with any monies left out for the missus to have), then Glass of milk, bite to eat, watch tailend of MOTD/Family Guy, then creep up to bed so as not to wake the little-un, and read a book for a bit.
