I've just had a phone call from an old friend who I meet/have worked for from time to time. She's just booked me for a Disco /Karaoke. It's for her son, aged 34, who died of epilepsy apparently. :( Makes you think.

Didn't think it would be flippant. ;) Wake, celebration of life, call it what you will. The lad was in his later life unable to work, but a dedicated fundraiser for charity. Now as you all well know I'm a fully paid up technological numpty, but there's a bid to get 1,000 hits on a facebook site. If you understand it, please do whatever you do to help. Here's the site.

sorry to hear about this, When ever i go out clubbing or taking a rig or even going out with tony, i allways top myself up on my anti epileptics first, from the day before i will take an extra one, plus before we start i shall take one, not had any problems yet, cheers damian

I done a wake last year which turned out to be good fun. Everyone there was celebrating his life and were really up for a party. They even had a playlist which included "living in a box" and "deeper underground". I'd imagine if they booked you for a disco and karaoke they must be of the same mindset

I have done 1 wake and 2 rememberance celebrations, all of which were for younger people who have died. On all occasions everyone was out to enjoy themselves and remember the good times, with plenty of dedications to the deceased.

If it was one of mine am not sure if I would have the strength to do something like this, but applaud those who do. Both rememberance celebrations raised a lot of money for charity also.

i did a funereal a couple of years ago for a young lad killed on his motorbike. Knew lad and his perants played a couple of tunes at the church and then do at night. A bit of a strange one

we did a gig last week for the friends of a 30y/o local lad who had died suddenly, the idea was to raise a glass to celebrate his life, and to raise money to pay for his headstone, They all made extra effort it seemed to make it a great and memorable night

It's likely to be one of the wires coming off the back of the male xlr socket inside the mic.

That's what it was when I had the same problem a while back.

I believe you need a mini screwdriver to undo the screw in the side of the mic near the bottom. You can then pull out the xlr & have a look to see if that's what's happened.

Edit: just re-read your post & seen the figure of £350 (which I missed before), so it's obviously a radio mic, in which case please ignore what I said!

The two switch slides, and the cover/track for them have popped off. A spot of surgery tonight, and they may go back. All depends whether the circuits below have moved to cause this. :confused:
I fear a trip to the repair shop is likely for it! :( :( :( :( :( :(
