I was driving home about 4:00 pm this afternoon , I had picked up my wife from Chichester and was half way down Harting hill (Some may know this).
Went around a sharpish right hander to see a bus in the middle of the road :eek: .
Only course of action was up the bank , so I did , taking half the bank with me and leaving the front of the van there.
I come back on the road heading for a sheer drop, now neither me or the wife can fly . so it was a case of a power slide, well that dident go to well either, ended up doing a 540 and facing up hill again :( .
Drove very slowly home ( about 1/2 mile) , the steering was a bit weird.
As luck would have it , this is a hire van which my firm hires for me at work.
Their picking it up in the morning a delivering another one.
Things like this dont my heart any good :Watusi: , but I`ll be ok after a stiff one tonight :D :D

:eek: Sounds like a bit of a hairy moment there Daryll, hope you and the wife are ok. To tell you the truth, bus drivers can sometimes be worse than some. They think they own the road because they're bigger.

Glad you're alright though :)

Not being funny but if your on a hill in a van and theres a sharp bend then just how fast where you going if the only course of action was to hit the embankment?

Glad to hear there was no injuries.

I was driving slowly , but the bus was well over my side of the road. slamming on the brakes was the worst thing I could have done , Bus 1 Daryll 0 :D .
