Strange username. Or are you just not happy that we now require people to sign up to the forum to gain all the benefits it offers?
Welcome.

Welcome.
I don't quite understand that, can you explain?
My username is an anagram of my real name and it's one I use on every forum I am a member of, funnily enough this is the first time it has ever been criticised.

Your username just reads as if you are aggrieved at having to join the forum to view the forum. You've also stated in your profile that your company name is Join To Read Sucks Discos, which aided in my confusion.
We recently implemented features that only allows 'guests' to view a few pages of the forum before they are prompted to "join to read" the rest of the forum. Maybe my question is apparent now. Your forum name just came across as being miffed at having to sign up to view whats on offer. If I've got it wrong then fair enough. It still reads that way to me though.
p.s. I wasn't criticising, merely voicing my thoughts. The fact that you've taking the time to introduce yourself to us all is a good thing. Welcome to the MDD...enjoy!
[ I'm off now to try work out how 'Simon Towns' is an anagram of Join To Read Sucks' ] :p

Haha! :D
:DJ: :welcome2: :DJ:
OK if you want to a Spanish Inquisition on all new members or maybe just on me, I have a stage name from when I was on the comedy circuit.
Simon Towns is my stage name, I'm really sorry if this has broken any rules (I didn't see any that said I couldn't use my stage name).
Is that OK or would you like me to change it?

If I was you, I'd be a bit more polite to the admin of this site. Shaun was merely asking a question, not being rude and there certainly wasn't a Spanish Inquisition.
Let's start again shall we?

I merely voiced a query and an opinion. Hardly an inquisition. Surely my reply stating why I had that opinion clearly explains why I voiced the query?

It's absolutely fine to use your stage name in your profile, there's no rule against it. Perhaps you could add your real company name to your profile too. I presume 'Join To Read Sucks Mobile Disco' isn't your genuine company name? :)
Shaun was merely asking a question, not being rude and there certainly wasn't a Spanish Inquisition.

Precisely.
Fresh start Mr Join To Read Sucks? :beer1:

Perhaps you could point out exactly where I was impolite?
I joined, I introduced myslelf, I even complimented the site on my first post, that is hardly impolite in my eyes.
I did read other threads from new members and noticed that not one of them had being asked similiar questions regarding their usernames, I am now curious in the same spirit as others were and wonder if Shaun is soimehow fixated with condoms or if you yourself perhaps like playing games on your own, because that is what your usernames suggest to me.
If there is a thread that explains how people decided on their usernames then I apologise, post a link to it and I will add my post, if not and it is a big deal maybe you would like to start one?

A very warm welcome to you.
Fresh start Mr Join To Read Sucks? :beer1:
Not wanting to offend anyone or break any rules but what would you like me to differently on a fresh start exactly?
I joined, I introduced myself, I posted a compliment to the site because it looks good and I thought I would learn a lot from being a member.
I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I fail to see it.
Any pointers would be appreciated

Who (other than you) has suggested that Shaun was being rude?
I've looked at everything i have posted and cannot see that I have accused him of it.
I am just starting out on the mobile disco business, having being a stand up comedian for a good number of years, I do not have any equipment yet nor do I have a name for my Company, it seemed logical to get equipment first then decide on a name, so as it stands JTRS mobile disco's is the best I can think of.

illbhuts, I'm guessing that would be Bills Hut, personally I prefer Pizza Hut, but then again I am tolerant to other peoples' preferences

You felt that my question was akin to the spanish inquisition, I don't like any of our members to feel that way - hence the comment about a fresh start. Nothing more, nothing less.

It was fully explained to you the reason why I asked you the question I did.
For the record, Both Solitaire and I have usernames directly relating to our business names. Your username however comes across just as I've explained in my initial post.
You are however free to use your chosen username. :beer1:

No, just to clarify, it wasn't your question that was akin to the Spanish Inquisition, it was the singularity of it that was akin, hence why I referenced it.
Yes if you feel that you could benefit from a fresh start, go right ahead, be my guest, I'm happy with my start as it is though, thanks all the same :beer1: :beer1: :beer1:

In which case I won't welcome you to the site and I will leave you in the moderation queue until you learn a little forum etiquette.

I'm sorry I thought I had already asked you for guidance, you accused me of accusing another member (Shaun) or being rude, which I hadn't done, the only person who made that accusation was yourself.
I've already apologised a few times if I have inadvertently broken any forum rules, which I have please direct me to accordingly.
I'm not bothered if you don't welcome to the site, that is your perogative, but when you state I should learn a little forum etiquette I would again ask for your guidance as to exactly what I have done wrong

OK, being as it was me that approved your first post, maybe I should interject.
Let's just all leave it there.
At the end of the day nobody could really give a toss what your user name is as long as it doesn't break any forum rules.
Now let's all let it drop or I'll start deleting posts.

i'll welcome you to the forum, and if i may offer a little advise about using it,
chill out, don't take things to heart and don't jump back in with size 9's without thinking about what/why your saying it.if you have a problem sort it out via pm that way it is all done in private(although most of us like watching a good spat it's not worth it in the long run). my main advise is browse and search the forum and see how people post and respond to each post. enjoy yourself and enjoy the forum

I find it odd that you come on here for advice yet rub up the wrong way two admins of the site within your first few posts? The advice here is free and so are mannors.
