March was a dead month for me disco-wise - not one single gig. :(
April, however is looking much better, disco's on 3rd,4th,10th,11th,18th and 25th. Two are fully paid up and deposits (NRBF's) received for others. :D
The rest of the year is starting to come together too, averaging 2 or 3 per month. As a guide 4-6 per month is quite good for me.
[edit] Still getting about 3-4 enquiries / month

We've got 3 bookings
One is a Primary School Disco, the other two are on the same night - one is a 25th Wedding Anniversary and the other is a 60th Birthday.

I had three, which wasn't bad for so early in the wedding season.

April is a quiet month for me, with only a couple of bookings. Funnily enough, neither are weddings. One is a 30th birthday and the other a 50th wedding anniversary. They're both local, so it will be an easy month.

That's fairly similar to myself, as I have an average of 3 a month over the next few months. I still need to fill some gaps from August onwards, but there's still plenty of time for that.

11 for me and 8 for other DJ's, including race nights, kids parties etc. This is about normal and May looks good but June is worrying.
A hell of an improvement from march which seen me out on the 1st and again this Saturday and nothing else - should have gone on holiday. :D :D
A lot of Sunday and a few midweek bookings in April which is always welcome.

4 so far, 30th - engagement - 50th and a wedding celebration. My adword campaign in the last 2 weeks has slowed down massively, not just the clicks to my site but the keyword impressions as a whole. In other words not many people are typing "mobile disco" into google in this area in the last few weeks. Still get a buzz when I press send/receive on outlook though, even though sod all is coming in lol. Onwards and upwards.

Nothing at all for me in April. Having said that, I turned down two because we were going to be on holiday, but now we're not going becuase my youngest is quite poorly.

Seems to the opposite way round for me. I've had a fair bit of interest this week and taken a couple of bookings.

I rarely get last minute enquiries/bookings, but the frequency hasn't really changed over the last few years.

A few other local DJ's have said the same as you but I think so far this year the shotest booking I have taken has been for 4 weeks till the event.

I think thats the credit crunch.
People used to think of holding things at fairly short notice just for a bit of fun and book late--Party, Birthday etc and it WAS affordable a year ago---there was no thinking process involved working out if they could afford it--;)
Now most of us probably think a bit harder about what we spend our money on.
Major events like Weddings,30th 40th, 50th.60th Birthdays and Corporate type events seem largely unaffected ( at the moment )

Agreed.
I seems virtually certain that 2009 will be my second best year ever.
Not bad considering we're in the middle of the worst recession for many years.
