Does anyone have any tips for Saturday's Grand National?

I've been told that "Creosote" is good over the fences.

My tip....take your fiver and put it in your pocket.....your a fiver better off that way. :D
I cant understand anyone who bets on the Grand National as its basically a any-horse-lucky-dip

It's the only race I ever gamble on , I usually have 2 or 3 staff in my shop that day and we choose a couple of horses each and for past few years one of us has won something and we have had good fun listening on the radio.

It's the only one I ever put money on too, we usually have a sweepstake in the office and a prize for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th.

Never won yet though but as they say "You gotta be in it, to win it".

BTW, just won a tenner on the Lotto :D

I suspect that for most people who only gamble once a year, this will be the event they gamble on.

Then theres all the "fixing"

Agreed---a waste of money unless you REALLY know what your doing.

Then you wouldnt be on here would you--you would be at the Races;)

I was thinking more like pure orange or a bucks fizz, after all, as a lottery winner I can now afford it :p ;) :D

Cloudy lane, state of play and Rambling minster

Well the bookies fav's are My Will 10/1
Butlers Cabin 10/1
Comply or Die 16/1 (last years winner)
Hear The Echo 16/1
Rambling Minster 12/1

Ive put some money on Kilbeggan Blade and Hear The Echoe, my mrs has put some on Rambling Minster. This is her first bet ever, I however dabble occasionally during the day. Looking at past Grand National Stats its not always the fav's who win so bear that in mind.

Ps I liked the joke rob

I wonder which bank they use. Hope they've checked the odds on them not going bust before the years out :p :D

I was gutted, I had a free £1 bet thing and I was going to put it on the horse that was 100/1 just for the fun of it!

I picked 3 horses for the Grand National and had a couple of quid each way on them. Irish Invader, Cerium and State of Play.
