Moonflowers

Hi guys,

I have tried searching for Moonflowers on the forum, but keep coming up with LED!

I am after either 2 x twin or 2 x single Moonflower effects.

I want to fill the dancefloor, but at the minute all I have are:

4 x ACME Dynamo's
2 x Derby's

so I am after a good effect that will cover a large area.

P.S. I don't want LED as I really don't like them - Dots don't do it for me!

Ive been told that Abstract are great, but i had two Twister 4 1ce (how different ar the HP's insides) and they were nothing but trouble. Ithey blew lamps left right and centre, motors burned out on both units within 12 months and i got them brand new.

I got the Acme Puma and havent had a single problem with them.

I have had the Twister 4s for ages and no problems at all. I think the light is completely different to the 1CE as I had those too.

You're not breaking anything to me - I've had and sold Led lights, Impossibleds, scans and moving heads and I know they are not brighter than Twister 4HPs.

The Impossibleds aren't more powerful than halogen or discharge lighting and they certainly don't blind you.

The Twisters are much brighter, have deeper colours, more colours and gobos.

I just bought an American DJ Tri Phase which is LED but not dots.

I like it and it gives a different look compared to moonflowers and dynamos which I also use.

I used Datamoons back in 2000 and they were a great light. Bought 2 new Datamoons last year, made in China now but still a great light for the money. It's amazing how many people still pass comment on them. I'm gonna but 2 more soon.

But the Twister 4 has been around for similar amount of time and is also a proven effect. Not much to choose between them, probably cost is the biggest issue?

I know what you mean about LED, I use a Miracled occasionally but it's certainly no Datamoon!!

Let us know what you choose in the end.
