Hi just wanted to know what regrets you lot have. when buying and selling items.

so list any items you've brought or sold that you regret.

my regrets when

the 1st day the foot got broken. all the screws for the base are plastic. and it wobbles with 2 moving heads and 2 scanners and the upright bars are now scratched. but the ultimax dosent. wish i had the money when buying mine and gone for the ultimax..

yes lol but its well massive it dosnt fit in my garden because i have a tree lol. and it has a stain that wont come out but i told it at a profit and im looking for a 12 x 12 now lol

Regret selling....Nothing!... i dont sell (generally) in a hoarder :)

Buying....Acme CTL6 Centrepiece. Would have made a great centrepiece, except its too blooming heavy, then 6 weeks after i buy it, they release an LED version at a fraction of the weight!

Regret buying some cheaper items when I first started ie 50w moonflowers & my first speakers only used them once but still got them.
Biggest regret not being a proper DJ until I was 44, really wanted to do it before but things always stopped me work, wives, children etc.

buying - Zoom virusators, 250w only £30 each, but pretty ineffective lights and so damn h eavy

And some folk on here, self included, love them. I find them particularly useful for crowds who don't want displays that are too manic. ;)

Regrets buying - a CD Kit (all in one mixer & dual CD player in a case). Sold it after about 2 months then went digital. Sold it at a loss but have never looked back :D
also regret buying a prolight deckstand (I was a deckstand virgin back then and thought a deckstand was a deckstand). Still going strong but showing heavy signs of use, not really sure how much longer it'll last being chucked in and out of the car.

Regrets selling - Martin Destroyers, although darn heavy, they were a superb light.

There's a few lights I still have including a double derby effect, an excellent room filler, just need to get a couple of bulbs for it.

I think you forgot add the immense regret you have about not buying a proper mixer. ;)

Not at all, I love that little thing, it's been 100% reliable and also given me an insight what to expect when I (eventually) get it's big brother, the CM200USB :p :p :p

Selling - never sell anything.

Buying - Rhino deck stand (was just starting and did not appreciate the difference) and worst purchase of all was a Kam Swingfire, just last year.

Selling: A Citronic CDM.10.4 DSP Mixer. Even though i upgraded my mixer to a denon x500 it would of been very handy to use for Karaoke.

Biggest Regret Buying was definetely the Mackie SRM450s. When it was either those of the RCF ART series i chose the mackies because you got free carry bags with them not the best choice. I should have gone RCF from the start instead of 8 months after buying the 450s. and an Acer laptop which saw the back door as soon as i had too many problems with it and also the Stairville parcans. Blowing fuses all the time wish i bought some better pars.

Best buy ... My Bose sound system, this has given me a new lease of life, I just love firing it up at gigs and I really now enjoy listening to the music and hearing things on tracks I've never heard before. http://planetsmilies.net/not-tagged-smiley-10797.gif

I've only ever regretted selling a sports car I bought back in the mists of time, I loved the car but the insurance company went bust and I couldn't afford to reinsure it. I was 18 at the time.
I deeply regret buying a pair of flame lights, a couple of acme splashes, some early LED par cans, they were all completley useless. and I'm still wondering what possesed me to buy them in the first place. Also a pair of wharfedale subs, gemini XTC 400 sub sat system, some acme winners and a behringer lighting desk, which I never got my head round. I also whish I hadn't bought my big RGB laser, I love the light, but it hasn't earned it keep.

Regret buying:
1.a 900w phonic amp - garbage - hardly any power output!
2.an old 20 year old 1500w amp - so big and heavy i could hardly move it - or get through doors properly! (soon went active after that!)
3.a massive 18U by 5U heavy duty flight case (thought id get everything in one place - good idea - then i couldnt lift the thing! or fit through doors!
4.American DJ Revo1 - thought it was great under a lot of smoke in the house - did next to nothing in venues.
5.Maplins TM6 and TM7 lights - as above.
6.Acer laptop - decent laptop but horrendous soundcard that whistles and fuzzes when connected. so not much use for what i wanted it for in the end.

Regret Selling:
1.not so much as a regret selling - more a would be still nice to have - I had some Prolight (W-audio) EV SX300 copies - never really drove them properly (due to above poor amps) but once I did they sounded great, but id gone active so had to sell.

dont really regret selling stuff - as i always try to upgrade, and make life a bit easier.
