Great Unit, Rack Mountable.

Features

- 2 SD Card Slots
- Play / Pause
- Cue Button
- Jog Wheel
- Seamless Loop
- Search Knob
- Seperate Decks, RCA Out

You have the option of saving tracks into folders.

Downsides

- Supported Files, MP3 ONLY
- Turn Knob, not too benificial to navigation
- Comes Packed with American Power Supply

The Major downside from my point of view is file compatibility, as most of my digital audio files are in WAV format, much higher quality.

This is not something I would use as a primary unit, but nice little device to play around with. Great for background and backup purposes. The quality of the unit is next to nothing, tough metal, excellent value for money.

(Note : American Audio and American DJ are the same company)

You havent said much that we dont already know............

Except as I was discussing with my DJ shop last week---IF you drop an SD card on the floor in pitch darkness it aint easy to find due to its dark colour.

Punter to another punter--err wots the DJ doing on his hands and knees on the floor behind the Disco

Answer---trying to find that SD card with my request on it.

:D :D :D

I'm using my SDJ-2 as my primary playout. I have a laptop and CD decks as backup / database / additional playout, however - but I really like the hands-on nature of it, and am happy to forsake carting in boxes and boxes of CD's or the boring nature of laptop DJing.

(No I don't like / want a Denon, Thank You!) :p

I think I saw in an email that Citronic are bringing out a similar item very shortly, costing less... this one perhaps:

If you have never seen or owned one, you would want to know this information, that is the general idea of a Review.

This is what reviews are for

It's just as bad as dropping USB flash drive on the floor, or even worse, spilling a drink all over the equipment.

Why would a Party Guest care about your SD Cards ???

Answer---trying to find that SD card with my request on it.

They are often microscopic.

I agree, laptops are a bit boring, even with a controller. You might as well take up Office work.

That item is out now, Phase One definately stock it and have done a video on it. It is able to read USB sources, as well as secure digital cards.

Yes, but unfortunately these things have been around quite a while and have been discussed in more detail than your 'review' which is more of a list of what it does that you could find on a lot of web sites.

True, but I didn't learn anything from that 'review'.

Has everyone been drinking today?

Ah yes back to paper lists or looking it up on the laptop--

No thanks.

I had considered it for my Country Disco with a limited number of tracks on 2 cards but I guarantee some annoying idiot ( probably paying me) will say stick on Dancing Queen  so I need the full collection on tap all the time on a HD.

I'm surprised, given his tendency to dredge up old posts for the sake of upping his post count, that Max hasn't found any of the threads it's discussed in.
