Hi,

looking for a thin mixer.

I am running Serato using a KAM Kase rack with slidy laptop draw and i am finding it hard to get to most of the mixer controls.

This (http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rane.com/jpg/mp4ch.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.rane.com/mp4.html&usg=__OUekrM25iVCy75dRZFth5KJaKGA=&h=439&w=5220&sz=260&hl=en&start=11&tbnid=rjJg2VoymScM_M:&tbnh=13&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Drane%2Bserato%2Bmixer%26gbv%3D2%26hl% 3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DG) would be an obvious option and sell the other rane box

Or get normal mixer and keep rane box.

Denon also do a thin mixer but are there any others? Any budget really?

do you mean thin as in length or depth?

That's actually thin in DEPTH Toby, the width is 19" which is standard, the depth is 1U which is thin (as mixers go).

Have a look at the Formula Sound Shadow (link below)

Also just 1U, although primarily designed as a standby mixer, it functions perfectly well as a simple standalone mixer. As a bonus, it's built in this country by one of the most highly regarded manufacturers of DJ mixers.

The standby functionality may also be useful if you use it as part of a larger system at any time.

The Cortex Mix R1U (http://http://www.cortex-pro.com/mix_r1u.php) is a nice 1u mixer.

Yes got confused with depth as in depth in to the rack

That mixer is ok but as you say is for back up. need a bit more functionality. Thanks anyway :)

2u would be good. the mixer i have has the mid/low/high up the top which is a pain to get to so having that next to the vol would be good.

spot on. will get one! Matches the Denon player perfectly Thanks :D

Cortex one is around £179 RRP, so the Deno is a bargain, and a great sounding mixer. Only gripe as people will mention, is there's no EQ on the mic. I've not found this a problem in the few times I've used mine.

Thanks everyone.

Have bought the Denon. That is the best ever as i have been using a denon dnx with my cd decks for five years and cant fault it at all.
